When teens fall asleep they start seeing Freddy then he starts killing but when they die in their dreams they die for real. So they pull him out of the dream and kill him IRL. Then he comes back
Prequel series done in the style of True Detective (a season long single story). Follows a young husband + wife who live on Elm Street with their two children. Children start going missing and we mostly see kidnap sequences in uncomfortable close ups or 1st person POV. Freddie himself is perfectly visible in non-kidnap scenes and there are a few torture/murder scenes where we see him clearly as well. Specifically the abduction/chase sequences are shot where we don't actually see him and are blurry and rushed to make them seem surreal and nightmare-ish.There are a few subtle hints throughout that it isn't Freddie (which are only given to the audience since the parents don't suspect Freddie until toward the end of the show) but those turn out to be red herrings because of course it is Freddie you retards.No Eungland no go so hopefully AI can make him look young or something.

It's also an interesting vehicle for 80's practical effects work.It doesn't work post-Englund and post-80's SFX.Friday is timeless in comparison. Jason is a mute brute, he has no real personality and can be transported into any setting or story and theoretically work. Just have some teens in a forest and a big guy with a machete.
