How is it? I'm a big fan of TNG and DS9 and I even like VOY. People really don't talk about ENT the way they do about TOS through VOY.
>>
It is kind of okay but if you remotely liked Vulcans at all it will very much upset you. Archer is a terrible captain and his retarded incompetence will probably anger you also. It is dated in a way none of the other series are and you can tell it was made in the early 2000s because of the 9/11 allegorical stuff and the cringe boomer coomer sensibilities with how they sexualize everything
>>
I never managed to get far into Star Trek. It feels too American but in an unconscious, sneering rich technocrat way. The way they treat their past (Our present) and equate material progress with morality always rubbed me the wrong way. The plots veered too much into "Let's laugh at primitive savages who don't agree with the writer of this episode" and "Let's get schooled and humiliated by godlike advanced aliens who agree with the writers of this episode even more".

ENT was somewhat more digestible, but I still didn't like it much. I always preferred Stargate, a wholly unpolitical show about American paratroopers shooting gods with submachine guns.

If you liked Voyager you'll probably like ENT

It's worth watching; deserved a longer run imo.
>>
>>215048430
I find the ENT era to be the most interesting though DS9 is still my favorite Trek series. The human-vulcan friction and interplay is great. T'Pol has an amazing character arc. Humans get their ass kicked a lot. The fact it's a show very much aimed at a male audience fan service wise makes it stand out positively nowadays where the feminist lens is default and everywhere unfortunately.

The two best seasons of Star Trek, followed by the two worst seasons.
>>

Only live action Star Trek series to show a bare female butt as far as I remember
>>
>>215048430
It was full of post 9/11 crap. The whole season of Xindi nonsense sucked too. The finale was insulting.
But it has some comfy episodes and the actors do their best with what they're given.
>>
>>215048430
It's bad. The Suliban arc was too far fetched even for Star Trek. The characters range from mildly interesting to fucking annoying. T'Pol Tucker romance was as bizarre and forced as Chakotay and Seven. Out of maybe 4-5 key episodes it's trash.
>>
good, but flawed, series

you get see how badass Andorians are
>>
>>215048430
Like eating saltines plain, you get tired of it more quickly than you'd think.

The only real bad thing about it is they fucked up and never got around to tackling the Romulan war
>>

scott bakula played the character differently in every episode.

i thought it was pretty good. the bizzare thing was how they were clearly signaling T'Pol Archer before that and then suddenly dropped it

It basically was only forced in the last 5 episodes

The problem with ENT is that that absolutely fucking retarded temporal cold war made 0 fucking sense then was just wrapped up as LOL NEVER HAPPENED ANYWAYS!

What the show should have been was the vulcans and humans trying to settle their differences, the humans trying to play catch up in the warp drive society that they were late to the party for, and the Romulan wars. I did like some of the separatist Earth NUMBAH 1 until it got to unbelievable like shooting earth from mars lmao. The fucking first season is DOGSHIT, trip and what's his face kept me interested because they actually tried to act, the Klingon stuff was kinda neat but ultimately went no where.

At least VOY didn't end with the entire series being a "Well this was all a Holo-suite simulation of what might have happened", VOY had some shit with it but at least it stayed in it's lane for the most part.

The lawyer was played by the same actor as Martok and he is kino I agree. The writers also used it as an opportunity to slip in a line about the klingons and how recently their warrior caste has displaced the other castes and ruled supreme.
It was a good bit of world building to suggest the klingons in the past had a more balanced civilization.

>>
>>215048430
I thought it was pretty fucking kino if you want a show about pre federation humanity where they gradually develop/gain technology and influence over time. It started to actually get good in S4 when they cancelled it. Was a shame.
>>
>>215051171
Problem for me was that the whole temporal cold war bullshit was just way too fast for prewarp 5.0(yes I know they technically went over it) but it was too much too early.
>>
>>215050520
>>215050743
anons lack FAITH OF THE HEART
>>
>>215051190
The fact that they wrapped that storyline up and ended it was a big part of why the show got a lot better in S4
>>
>>215050650
well you know you're just being facetious and retarded because TOS had midriff in the mirror universe and that had no impact on it feeling dated because it doesn't feel that way at all. if you write alive watching TV and movies back in the late 90s and early 2000s you may have no idea what I'm talking about but the raunchy and cringe sex stuff popular at the time made its way into this show and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
>>
>>215051387

>>
>>215050604
The one with the weird space station that could fix just about anything, but secretly took a crewmember as payment was genuinely good space horror on the first watch.
>>
>>215048430
It is strictly its own thing, in between trek and nu trek in terms of quality. I agree with the other anons in that its dated in a way none of the other series are because the dialogue feels very mid 2000s in a way that's hard to describe but once you watch a couple of episodes you'll see what I mean. A little smart alecky without the charm of a Shatner or Riker. I did not care for the weird horn dog sex stuff.
>>
TOS > TNG > ENT = VOY > DS9
People with autism really like DS9 because everyone is a cartoon character but this is the neurotypical ranking.
>>
>>215052399
DS9 had a bad start and the whole "Sysko is space geebus" shit irked me especially the ending "LOL GOTTA STUMBLE INTO LAVA" but everything else about it was fine the characters sold the show
>>
>>215048430
It's dull with bad acting. The producers and writers were out of ideas and it showed. Brannon Braga has talked about how they got fucked by the network and he spent the whole first season exhausted from putting out fires and churning out subpar work.
>>
>>215048430
ENT is better than VOY in my opinion. Felt more like TOS than any other series. Worth it just to see Jeffrey Combs steal the show.
>>
>>215048430
ENT is amazing.
It is like a dream.

Pure cozy.
Example, S2E5 "A Night in Sickbay"
>>
>>215048430
Trash. PEAK studio interference mixed with fart-huffing liberalism worse than previous Treks. And Archer was called "Captain Kick My Ass" for how much he got his ass kicked.

THEN you get into the later seasons and all the Xindi fan-wankery, but its literally a season's worth of mustache-twirling cartoon villain posturing and empty talk before they finally do anything and the retards ate this slop up, like they'd been feasting on cardboard and somebody put a drop of stale ketchup on a piece so they thought it was amazing.

Hot take but I like it better than TNG because they aren't technologically overmatched to practically everyone else they come across without contrived problems or supreme beings. They bungle around and make mistakes because they are new to this shit and and sometimes lose then have to come back with help or a scrappy solution. Solid adventure procedural with a weak over-arc plotline (temporal civil war and Xindi arc basically sucked at the broadstrokes scale but the individual episodes and small arcs were usually great).

>>215053012
>fart-huffing liberalism worse than previous Treks.
TNG was literally 10% Lefty PSAs wrapped in a lame scifi plot summary. You're full of shit.

>low-test
Oh you're one of those morons.
>>215052399
You're a fucking moron, TNG is the most shallow fucking universe of all Trek, where every other culture is a one-note caricature to compare their inferiority to the enlightened and tolerant Federation.

Enterprise is the Dragonball GT of Star Trek.
By which I mean that it got way more hate than it deserved when it was airing, due to bad first impressions.
Also, it is better than what comes after it.
(it's also better than Voyager, for that matter).

>>215048577
Vulcans have always been asshole from TOS to DS9. Also Archer being somewhat incompetent was a nice twist on the Prime Directive bullshit. It then made sense why the Feds adapted that clause.
Also sex with Shran
>>
As a fan of ENT, I can tell you it's closer to TNG than DS9 or VOY ever did
Love Archer, him being a green captain is a great branch from the tiresome "LOOK THIS CAPTAIN IS THE BEST EVER SUPER GREAT AND AWESOME!!" tropes
Phlox is also a very original character
