Which tournament shounen is this one? They all look identical.
>>215051428Shippuden/part 2 is absolutely great. It turns a battle shonen into an epic. The heart of the story is Pain/Sasuke, who of course parallel each other. The rivalry trope from part 1 transforms into a history-spanning explanation of the tragedy of human conflict. The hidden village system, which was meant to bring peace to a world wracked by war, failed to resolve tribal rivalries. The Uchiha and the Senju formed a tenuous alliance out of expedience, an alliance doomed to failure because it did not resolve the fundamental struggle for power between the two clans. Madara foresaw the outcome, the bitter doom of his clan's pride. Pain explains from an external enemy's perspective the same hatred in inter-village terms. While Naruto sought to save his friend, he learned the hard lesson Jiraiya told him when he was too young to understand: "There's too much hate in this world." Sasuke's hatred, like Pain's hatred, was motivated by love, ignited by revenge. Hashirama, too, wanted to save his friend Uchiha Madara, but as Hokage he decided he could no longer forgive anyone who threatens the village—no one, not a friend, not even his own child. Naruto, hearing the depths of Pain this cycle of vengeance brings about, learns the true meaning of his Nindo: if he never goes back on his word, then his dream of becoming Hokage can never, never come true if he cannot save one friend; and if he cannot do something about all this hate of ours, then he cannot save the last scion of the Uchiha clan, their avenger. His Nindo and his dream become one. Jiraiya's dream is carried on, too. The disciple who gave into hate, Pain, acknowledges the disciple who overcame hate, Naruto. In his victory, Naruto gains the acknowledgement of the village that hated him. The boy who brings enemies together, this is the one who can bring peace to the world.
