ITT: Games Zoomers pretend to have played

Bonus points if it's got a Demake and they say that's better than the original

This is /tv/, but I actually have played it. I think it's a little overrated.
Other games I have also actually played:
Ico
Deus Ex
VTMB
Earthbound
Chrono Trigger
Planescape: Torment
Baldur's Gate

basically every game released pre 2013 and do 90% of titles of newer titles.

zommers don't play video games. they consume it by watching streams and video essays, and buying stuff on steam for bragging.
Even when they come around to play the game, they basically never go in blind and know every "optimal" way to play them already, and then brag about how fast they beat this and that.

vidya is basically books now, people buy them but rarely ever read them.

OP may be a retard but remakes suck 99.8% of the time

I blame the rise and ease of digital games. Having to go to the store to buy a game used to be an “event” and essentially forced to you play every game you bought

one of the most retarded posts i've ever seen. you all seem to forget retro gaming had a huge revival and gaming is the most popular its ever been. zoomers are setting world records on games older than them. its a worrying sign how much time they waste on it from a society perspective
>>
I don't know if I'm right, but all those anti-woke guys complaining about modern video games seem very dishonest to me. Like they never really played all those supposedly non-woke games from 1990s and early 2000s.

gaming really got big with right wing types during 360 mw2 era. the artsy pretentious stories of before got replaced with gwot propaganda bay slop. gaming has shifted left and right, both groups complain like pussies when it doesnt cater to them. left wing were doing it for years with gamergate and such. It was republicans that tried to ban gta the whole time.

you just proved me right. The stupid cancer that is speedrunning isn't the optimal way to play video games, and it never was. It's just an autistic ultra niche stuff and it only became popular lately exactly because zoomers love to watch other people video games, and speedruning is very much a part of that. One retard plays while thousands other watch.
Incidentally that is almost an antithesis of retro gaming, in order to actually plays retro vidya(and not just watch stuff on YouTube about them) you need to love video games in a very pure and essential way, something the zoomer mentality of constantly yapping is foreign to.

This is centrally a part of it, but the biggest fault is the current internet culture of hype cycles. Basically everything is trendy for a week and if you don't participate in the hype at that moment all the quality of a product/vidya is lost.
Before as a kid I almost never played and bought a game on release, only when you REALLY liked something and anticipated it. Mostly you just went to the store and picked up what looked interesting or what a close irl friend told you is good. Now it's all internet twitter hype bullshit.

you’re absolutely correct. Look at how many people bought silksong without having played the original hollow knight

>buy THING and get excited for next THING
we truly live in an age where people are more exited at the thought and act of buying something than actually using the thing

Growing up with the computer games of that era like Fallout, Jagged Alliance, Counter-Strike, etc. Being able to call people faggots, etc. Plus Tom Clancy was still big in this era as well
