Am i not supposed to want to wage war against the fucking space bugs?
>>

It's a satire of Nazi propaganda so it wouldn't be very effective if you left the theater *not* wanting to fight the space bugs. The point is that the bugs echo the adversaries depicted across all Fascist propaganda, which are somehow framed as both terrifying and pathetic simultaneously. They're not sympathetic because they're not intended to be.

Famous fascist propaganda: soviet propaganda.

>He still believes Buenos Aires wasn't an inside job
Ngmi and doesn't want to know more.

I read the book yesterday, and it's absolutely nothing like the movie, not sure what verhoovan was smoking desu senpai.

He literally admits to not having read it.
>>
>>215060486
the book is a poorly veiled political manifesto. The plot only exists to move the reader onto the next monologue where some not-Heinlein character espouses the virtues of militarism
>>
>>215059533
actually the bugs are the good guys, you just lack media literacy
>>
>>215060832
Honor, duty and sacrifice isn't a political manifisto, they're truly universal beliefs, that's why courage is well regarded, what ever it's circumstance. He pisses on communism and rightly so.

If you kill the bug, they win.

> satire of Nazi propaganda
This might be the least media savvy bullshit to propagate about the movie yet. It’s satirizing AMERICAN propaganda. That’d be the allies. The people who fought nazis.
Nazi propaganda looks nothing like Starship Troopers, it’s Wagnerian, it’s overwrought and emotional. Starship Troopers has the exact gung ho cadence of war bonds commercials. Would you like to know more?
It’s actually fucking amazing people have become so ideologically locked into this narrative about the movie they’re forced to invent obvious lies. You can’t have watched any nazi propaganda or allied propaganda whatsoever in reaching this “conclusion”.
>ablooboohoo but how could Verhoeven do this
Golly gee I wonder if he’s made his views on american culture clear in any of his other movies? I guess that’s a bridge too far for you fucking retards.
>>
>>215060832
It's not veiled at all, he's making a point about responsibility aimed at teenagers.
>>
>>215060806
The book is like 200 pages,he absolutely has no excuse, you'd finish it in an evening. It's obvious he just wanted to make robocop again, and the book was foil for it.
>>
>>215059533
If you have nothing else in your life worth living for, sure. I dont mind people dying in foreign countries if they're too retarded to learn how to be a plumber.
>>
The discourse around Starship Troopers almost feels more noteworthy than the movie at this point.
