I haven't seen it but it was disappointing to see it not receiving much acclaim seeing as I've found the Safdies pretty reliable up to now. It has me concerned it may be a Coen Brothers situation where they work well together but not alone. Hopefully Marty Supreme is good at least.

Waited 120 second to type this reply.I thought this movie was great and better than One Battle After Another.It's a very comfy moving, there is a lot of great Jazz Music used for the Soundtrack such as sounds similar to Casiopea.When he was fighting and beating the shit out of the opponent they play relaxing comfy Jazz music which I thought was unique and soothing and gave a certain grace to the violent sport.The Rock was great in the role and truly transformed into a different person.The movie was chill and meditative and reminded me of the vibes in Lost in Translation.The cinematography was wonderful and better than PTA's movie as well and it was shot on film.

The movie is good, not great. I've never seen the doc and I probably should have just watched that. DWAYNE does well I think, though when he shaves his head at the end he just looks like The Rock now. Emily Blunt is surprisingly hot as a BPD 90s bimbo. Ryan Bader did great as did Bas Rutten (who is lookin pretty old nowadays). I liked the soundtrack.
