Why didn’t Frodo just have the eagles fetch a bucket of lava from Mt. Doom and bring it back to the Shire to melt the One Ring there?

One thing I don’t understand:After the first night in the woods Frodo would notice that the wraiths know generally where the ring is but they can’t see its precise location.Why not just find some random meadow off in the middle of nowhere and bury it like 3-4 feet down? They’ll know sort of where it might be but they’ll never find it.

>>215067466This is cut from the movie, but at the council of Elrond they do discuss just getting rid of it somewhere and not dealing with. It is seen as just kicking the can down the road, as Sauron will just get it eventually then. They have the chance to destroy it, so they go for it.
