This movie was ass. Can I please get a normal Superman movie where he fights a bad guy. Stop it with the pseudo-intellectual commentary on how people would react if Superman existed in real life. That was never why anyone watched DC comics which are just power fantasies. Leave the philosophical-realism bullshit to Marvel comics.

He does that in the movie, anon.

just watch the cartoons little buddy

I liked the movie but it did seem pointless for it to tease nuance and the challenging of Superman's simplistic sense of right/wrong just for the invading country to be cartoon evil. Also, for being so supposedly hopeful and optimistic about the compassionate nature of man, it sure is wrapped in this cynical pretense that people are cattle and believe everything they read on social media or see on TV, right away, and question none of it.

Still enjoyed it. Liked the more fantastical approach, having an established setting from the outset without the need to watch a dozen other movies first. Kind of reminded me of picking up a comic book at the start of a new arc that's partway through an overall comic's run, so there's an established universe and dynamics, but tells a new story.

>Invading country to be cartoon evil
Nigga have you been paying attention to the US and their master Israel? It's illegal to insult Saint Charlie Kirk the Holey or question why your taxes are being spent on health care and education for pedophiles.
Superman IRL would be conflicted with everyone's complacency.

That's the issue I have with it. If you're going for the realism shit, then go full realism.

Yeah, and no more onions on burgers! I hate onions! >:(

Every modern take on Superman feels like they have to justify his existence and relevance instead of just telling a good Superman story. It definitely shows in this film where his big moment is a speech where he goes "Actually, I am relatable!"

I didn't get that from this movie

>philosophical realism in Marvel
While thr MCU is more grounded compared to the comics, they're far from realistic.

This would be a great children's movie if not for the scene where Lex executes an innocent civilian.
