>>215069789Because he masked his hedonism in the trappings of virtue. He wasn't a mentally ill alcoholic glutton. He was standing up for the dignity of non-white people and their cultures. He was not exploiting them and he did not become a multimillionaire media darling by filming third worlders and eating their bush meat. He was simply shining a light on how the third world is still abused and debased by the white capitalist western powers.
>had one of the coolest jobs>still killed himselfwhat chance do I have?
>>215069789We didn't agree on much (largely his anti-White views) but he did take it upon himself to kill Anthony Bourdain and for that he has my respect.

>>215069789>Why do people worship Bourdain? He was unlikableYes, he was unlikeable, and had severe character flaws. That said, his program was interesting, particularly years ago, because he went to places the usual TV food critics didn’t go, and therefore showed food being eaten that the average person was unlikely to eat, even possibly if the person travelled to the same countries Bourdain travelled to. He also pointed out cultural aspects of different countries, that usually get cut out of regular TV shows, or only included in tiny amounts. Bourdain probably ate food made from gutter oil, and rancid meat parts taken from roadkill. That sort of thing is rarely shown in travel documentaries, and I’m guessing the last time things like this were usually mentioned in travelogues regularly was in the late 18th and earlier 20th century, with the occasional exception of obscure wartime memoirs.
have a negroni, have two.
Stop busting my balls
>>215069789His show on the Travel Channel was fun and funny.
>>215070183Yeah, the guy wrote about 30 hit songs and recorded incredible albums like Wildflowers into his 50s. Fuck off
>>215071337>I’m guessing the last time things like this were usually mentioned in travelogues regularly was in the late 18th and earlier 20th century, with the occasional exception of obscure wartime memoirs. You're completely wrong. Interacting with other cultures through their exotic and strange food is a permanent staple of travelogues up to this day.
>>215069735"i heard most of Bourdain's "cooking career" was done with a lighter and a spoon"-Guy Fierri
