Season 1 was pretty boring as well desu. Wanted to like it but got maybe half way through.

The first one got a lot of flowers cause it was made during peak woke and it'd been a minute since we got a competently made military action thriller on TV. The new one like with the first season is heavily bogged down by the bad writing (has to be a world record for the number of time "brother" is used holy shit)

I guess there really is not much room for innovation in the military/spook thriller space cause the same plotlines have been recycled for 60-70 years at this point. Also, I usually think Kitsch is good in most things but this character/performance did not work as the lead. He was decent in the first season but he's too monotone too devoid of any charisma or charm whatsoever (same issue Pratts character has) to carry an entire season. With Pratt they at least tried to add some characterization with the annoying ass flashback scenes but here they didn't even bother. That comically long letter that is read in its entirety was excruciating. The prototypical midwit GWOT milbro slop that you'd find next to a group pic on some SF guys insta.

I actually preferred The day of the jackal to this by quite a margin even though it's more pozzed, less realistic, redmayne is a fag etc
