Obviously it's shit now but was Dr. Who ever truly good?

Nine was Fantastic.

Some of them were good, any episode written by Terrance Dicks was worth a watch

By and large though it's an incredibly uneven show even at its peak, which never really quite fully utilised its genius concept
>>
It's a kid's show at the end of the day. Occasionally the writers will have a good idea or two but it will never escape the fact that it's entertainment for the easily impressed.
>>
Good writing before Capaldi became the doctor.

I remember Nine, Ten and Eleven fondly because I was a kid back when it was airing. I would place it in the same category as 2000s power rangers but with a few better story arcs

I don't think it was really good at any point.
It has a handful of really good episodes (Midnight, Blink), but other than that it's either shit or boring filler.
Classic Doctor Who is much worse, it aged like shit and every episode except few (like the Daleks origins episode) is the same story but with a different monster of the week.

My college roommate tried to get me into it and showed me that episode with the crying angel statues and I just felt like I was watching British Goosebumps
>>
It had good episodes but the quality was always all over the place.
The child with the gas mask freaked me out when I first saw it as a teen.
