When the Wolverine deadpool movie came out, I thought the joke was that he was a dreadful Gambit. I mean, people had been talking for a decade about him playing Gambit, and it's funny because he was so unbelievably bad at it, after all that talk. He was awful, and he even looked ridiculous. Glad he got to play him. Before Fox was sold they announced him as Gambit where they even brought on him stage in a Gambit shirt and he was losing weight for the role. Then that all ended until years and years later with the Deadpool cameo.
