This movie makes zero sense and James Bond literally rapes a girl in it. It's also boring as fuck until the end. Why is it so highly rated? Dr. No and From Russia with Love are way better.
>>215075705>This movie makes zero senseTry watching it.
We all came here to laugh at you for being a fat gay retard
>>215075705Man with the golden gun is best bond.
>>215075712Why not let James Bond get laserd? Why keep James Bond alive for so long? Why even involve the dudes in the plan if they weren't going to be part of the plan? Why not just nuke Fort Knox if the airspace was open for a fleet to fly over it?
This was the film that turned Bond into slop

>>215075705>james bond>not raping the girlspick one
Goldfinger is an iconic villain; he's like Lex Luthor in that he's very smart but his ego always gets in the way, with extreme grandiose plans that would work out if he wasn't so full of himself.
It had a memorable name/theme. I think you overestimate how critical anyone is of Bond movies. They're all the same level as Marvel
>>215075785Bond disapears => MI6 knows he was investigating Goldfinger => Goldfinger gets fingeredThey even spell it out in the movie
>>215075705The first 45 minutes are awesome, but it does become pretty boring after Bond is taken prisoner and stays that way for the rest of the movie. Also worst Felox Leiter ever
>>215075785Almost every movie is unrealistic. In reality every antagonist would kill the protagonist the second they got the opportunity. Monologuing only exists in film.
>>215075705Why would the gold being radiated have any effect on the stock market when gold doesn’t circulate anyways? The gold already just stays inside the vault. What would radiating it achieve?
One of my dad’s friends got a big hemmarhoid and the doctor told him he should freeze rubber gloves with water in them (with the fingers twisted at the knuckle) to make “frozen fingers” to stick up his ass for roid relief.Dad’s other friend started singing the Goldfinger theme but as “Coldfinger” and they all cracked up.
>>215075785is this the actual autism I keep hearing about?
>>215075785All of those are fine if you suspend disbelief, the only truly dumb part is when Goldfinger comes back for revenge at the end just so Bond can kill him and tie everything up neatly for the audience
>>215075705Not the movies fault but the book. The book is even more retarded. Atleast in the movie switched it from giant bandsaw to laser
>Iommi claims in his autobiography that Ward almost died after a prank-gone-wrong during recording. The Bel Air mansion the band was renting belonged to John du Pont and the band found several spray cans of gold DuPont paint in a room of the house; finding Ward naked and unconscious after drinking heavily, they proceeded to cover the drummer in gold paint from head to toe, blocking his pores and causing him to suffer a seizure.
>>215075705James Bond rapes lots of women in the books.
It started the Bond formula that they then repeated for 20 movies. That's it.
>>215076388>Why would the gold being radiated have any effect on the stock market when gold doesn’t circulate anyways? The gold already just stays inside the vault. What would radiating it achieve? In the ISA, from 1933 to 1975, gold was legally restricted from public ownership, but with certain exceptions, such as jewelry, numismatic collecting, medical use, etc. Gold was however used for international transactions between governments and possibly also by banks. The US Government, and several other major governments, had had a “standard gold price” used as an official government exchange rate for gold. By irradiating the US Gold Reserves, the USA would bo longer be able to use those gold reserves for monetary transactions, which would also necessarily prevent the US Government from using those gold reserves to enforce the “official” gold price that basically existed around the globe. Since the US gold standard ended, the price of gold has massively increased, and is now 100 times what it was when “Goldfinger” was released. The character of Goldfinger, being located in Switzerland and having gold reserves, would have made a fortune when the Gold price went up.
>>215076973Me no big thinkerDidn't Nixon do something with the gold that would have made this entire plan worthless anyways?
>>215077002>Didn't Nixon do something with the gold that would have made this entire plan worthless anyways?Nixon suspended the ability for governments to trade US dollars to the US Government for gold, which had been one of the standards of the Bretton Woods System. He claimed the goal was to reform the Bretton Woods system, but this reform never happened, so the Bretton Woods System collapsed. The Bretton Woods System had fixed currency values and trade rates between countries.
>>215075705I've been collecting the Bond movies for a while, hoping to start watching them in order. I started with Dr. No. It was horrible, boring and I didn't want to continue. I've only seen a few of the later ones before.

>>215077213filtered>>215075705yeah idk why that one specifically is one of the highest rated ones. I thought from russia with love and thunderball were better
>>215075705It's a burgerpunk Bond entry, and it was a 'jump the shark' moment for the franchise where it veered too sharply toward 60's comedies. Clearly in the aftermath of Kennedy's assassination, the subtext had something to do with the spectre of WASP gangsterism in the U.S.
