people really watch 5+ hour video essays about a TV show from 20 years ago instead of just watching the show.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYQ0Um9VlhM
This isn't something new, or that only started on the internet. Stop being a fucking retard any time now.
>>215077598wat. i remember documentaries ABOUT shows, and things like clip shows, but of course this is a recent/YouTube thing.
>>215077555People just need something to idly listen to while doing the dishes/ working dead end jobs. They can't engage enough to listen to a full album of music, a tv show or an audiobook because they are tired and even entertainment sounds like effort. 20 years ago people just left their tv on all day just to have some idle chatter around the house. This is the same thing and I wish I could get in on that gig cause reciting wiki pages instead of FUCKING WORKING HOLY FUCK I WANT TO KILL MYSELF AND QUIT MY JOB I FUCKED MY WHOLE LIFE OVER sounds good
>>215077555Losers! We traditionalists spend 5+ hour a day on /tv/ to form our opinions about movies.
>>215077555anon... it's been 30 years...
>>215077555stop posting your channel
I'm 3 hours into watching this and your post shows up all of a sudden. Am I an x file?
i feel like it's more likely anyone watching this is either hoping to use it as background noise as they fall asleep - or they've already watched x-files itself so many times that they have moved on to second-form consumption and begun to instead watch people discussing just to bring themselves back into that world in a novel way by recontextualizing itit's just the fan fiction form of a sequel: analyzing the shit out of it to the point of re-capping episodes scene for scene. you see this with older shows like TNG and the sopranos where there'll be whole channels of just 1-2 minute clips and sometimes hundreds of people going into multi-paragraph breakdowns of everything from the filming of the scene to their own personal interpretation of the content and dialogue
>>215077555Well it needed 5 plus hours because the series ran for so long, every season a huge bucket of episodes, which is now an abandoned practice. He makes reference to all kinds of important details to prove that it all made rational sense. However that doesn't mean the series didn't get crappier over time, he's just talking about the turn of events making more sense than most fans are aware of. Like with the two seasons from a couple years ago, I remember them being kinda sloppy with the acting, musical score, cinematography. It was very underwhelming. Doesn't mean it wasn't cohesive in terms of the storylines.
>>215077555>12k viewsPeople clearly don't.
>>215077639I get all my opinions from the nostalgia drinker and other select tube heroes.
>>215077762I work the Custodial Graveyard shift and am allowed to have a speaker or headphones playing music/audiobooks/podcasts all night. This type of content gets so fucking old after a while, since the "Analysis" is really them just giving the episode synopsis of each episode.
