Christmas has be to a part of the plot to be a true christmas movie. Jingles All the Way, Polar Express, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc... are real christmas movies. Die Hard and Home Alone are fake christmas movies where you can easily replace the setting to 4th of July or Thanksgiving and the plot wouldn't be affected.

I'd argue that Eyes Wide Shut is a Christmas movie as well, because it tracks thematically as well as aesthetically. It's like It's a Wonderful Life After Dark.
