>UK
Ugly manlet failure who bullies coworker because it’s the only thing that brings him joy in his miserable life
>USA
Aloof conventionally attractive tall man who torments autistic coworker but nobody cares because everybody likes him
>>
>conventionally attractive
He's mid at best.
>>
>>215079090
They're looksmatched
>>
>>215079090
Right is cuter than left.
>>
>>215079090
Your shows are a joke compared to ours American. Your low IQ due to mixed euro/african genetics means they have to severely simplify your shows or else you dont "get it"
Plus your one is a jew (sorry I forgot to mention the Jewish genes mixed in with your African ones)
>>
>>215079090

This is why the US office fails. Tim is self-loathing and pitiable, while Jim just comes across as a smug bully. Also look that their equivalent antagonists - Lee (UK), a genuinely nasty piece of work, and Roy (US) just a dumb lug with big soulful eyes
>>
>>215079173
>compared to ours american
has to be bait kek
>>
>>215079090
Martin Freeman is relentlessly handsome
>>
>>215079090
Okay? It's a completely different show, if you want UK shit, watch the UK one.
>>
>>215079209
If you think someone like Jim is a bully you’re a massive loser. I’m shorter than him and even I can could kick the guys ass.
>>
>>215079683
This. Foreigners are so strange. For decades they bring up a show they don’t even like. What purpose does it serve for them? They just like obsessing over anything American.
>>
>>215079090
UK humo(u)r revolves around the idea of the silly eccentric trying to appear normal in a society that he hates but has to live in. Brits find this hilarious from Mr Bean to The Office.
US humo(u)r reflects the deep American existential fear of ostracisation from society, so unlike in UK comedy where the eccentric is the main character, in US comedy the group is the main character and the eccentric exists only to be bullied and made fun of.
>>
>>215079209
>>215079090
Jim is only a bully for modern audiences who grew up with smartphone lynch mobs. Normal humans should see his antics tormenting his socially retarded deskmate as lighthearted and prankish. They should reboot it for modern audiences and make Dwight a transgender nazifur.
>>
>>215079090
both series are for normie faggots
>>
Dwight isn't autistic. He's just a cartoonish, unrealistic character who couldn't exist anywhere but in a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
>>
>>215079124
I wonder why, you faggot retard.
>>
>>215080130
almost there. The australian version has Jim or maybe its Pam as a tranny
>>
>>215079090
Tim is a lot more likeable than Jim.
>>
>>215080044
big if true
>>
Are British people still mad that The Office is better than British version?
>>
>>215079173
>ours American
Speak English, you slavic cretin.
>>
>>215079780
he's objectively a bully
>>
A went to a yuppie party in dc around 2008 and this hot enough wasian chick was telling me she hated how everyone thinks hes cute and hes not even attractive
>>
>>215081554
Of course you think that. You’re a weakling who got bullied.
>>
>>215081581
Nice blogpost, fag.
>>
>>215079105
Named most attractive person of the year some time back
>>

The only grammar issue is the lack of a comma, though
>>
>>215079209
>This is why US office fails

>>
>>215081718
Sure thing, Alenka.
>>
>>215081554
The vast majority of the pranks he pulled were just wasting dwights time, which he already wasted pleanty of himself. Even with all of these pranks, dwight was still consistently the top salesman at the branch, so you can't even make the argument that jim was keeping him from doing his job. There were also a few times where jim directly helped dwight, like preventing him from getting fired, driving him to the hospital when he had a concussion, and giving him advice/consolation when he was heartbroken about the office slag angela. Conversely, there were a couple times dwight straight up attacked jim physically, like with the snowball "prank" which was worse than 90% of the pranks jim pulled on him. By the end of the show they were genuine frens because everything they did amounted to sibling rivalry
Also you're gay, like really fucking gay, man
>>
Bullying Gareth in the UK version was sympathetic because Gareth was fundamentally a mean spirited person, he wasn't a lovable goof autist nerd into science fiction shows but instead the kind of guy who kicks those under him and sucks up to those above him.

Dwight makes no sense as a character cause he's both a weird maladjusted spergy nerd but also super self confident and focused and successful.
>>
>>215079090
Is Jim supposed to be likeable, I can't tell but I don't like him at all
>>
>>215081645
> of course you think he's a bully
> you got bullied
So you agree with him then? Retard
>>
>>215083714
Stop bullying him
>>
>>215080130
Constantly pranking the weird socially awkward kid is exactly what bullys do.
>>
>>215082834
Jim's 'pranks' would be getting him fired in any normal workplace. Just because Dwight is the top salesman doesn't mean its okay to waste huge chunks of his time fucking with him, if anything it makes it worse.
>>
>>215084908
>jims pranks would get him fired in any other workplace
Nice observation there, captain eagle-eyes
Micheal would have been fired for any of the chicanery he pulled, too
So would have dwight, as he kept multiple weapons in the office throughout the entire run of the show and literally fired a gun once
You need to not take it so seriously man
It's a 20 year old sitcom
Next time you complain about it I'm going to cut off your foreskin and put it in jello
>>
>>215081542
American office is horseshit.
>>
>>215079105
I kinda thought this at first but for whatever reason women are sopping wet over this guy.
>>
>>215085016
And yet both the show and audience look down upon Michael and Dwight for those qualities, whereas Jim is hoisted as this bastion of male role models. Yeah, it's a TV show, but anons aren't wrong when they describe Jim as a bully because that's his main character trait. It's like you think anons calling him a bully means they are personally offended by his antics, it's just a word that describes his actions.
>>
>>215081769
Better known doesn't mean it's better.
>>
>Another thread of Americans whining about their British superiors
kek. You love to see it, though you'd never read it.
>>
>>215085586
He is not held up as a bastion of role models
He's a cuck
Dwight and micheal are also cucks
It's very cuck-coded show
>>
>>215085877
Yes he is, have you not seen how many women say shit like 'looking for the Jim to my Pam' etc? Normies love Jim.
>>
>>215083105
>Dwight makes no sense as a character cause he's both a weird maladjusted spergy nerd but also super self confident and focused and successful.

He's too autistic too doubt himself/realize how maladjusted he is. I've seen that IRL.
He is successful since his job requires a limited skill set, mainly just confidence and diligence.
He is still a cartoon character.

t. continental who's only seen like 5 episodes of either show
>>
>>215086215
later on in the show he's massively successful with women and considered attractive by them and owns his own business and stuff like that. but he becomes even more autistic.
>>
>>215086164
Being the Jim to a Pam is not necessarily a great confidence boost
>>
>>215079105
Mid and 6'3"
Otherwise known as an adonis.
>>

>Your low IQ due to mixed euro/african genetics means they have to severely simplify your shows or else you dont "get it"
What the fuck dude?!
>>
>>215079090
US version sucks, don't understand why it's popular
>>
>>215086266
This
It becomes an ongoing joke that women throw themselves at Dwight. Both girls in his farming community and elsewhere. More notably one of Pam's bridesmaids who keeps showing up to fuck him.

Meanwhile Jim has crippling oneitis.
>>
>>215079209
>Roy (US) just a dumb lug with big soulful eyes

Nerds on 4chan cheering on bullies so they can feel like they're part of the same Chad family will never stop amusing me
>>
>>215086275
> TOES
uhhh I thought women despised footfags
>>
>>215079090
yeah the uk version is inferior in every aspect
>>
>>215079209
Good point. Roy's big sin is not fully committing to his wallflower small town high school gf and not humoring her lack of talent and also being kind of a boring blue collar guy.

Lee meanwhile is very domineering and controlling in a suble but mean kind of way, there's an underlying danger in his primitivity and roughness. Like you can feel he might just punch Dawn one day if she ever gets out of line. The UK office was good at going to the core of these characters despite showing them so little. Finch is similar.
>>
>>215079090
The pointless comparison aside, UK comedy is just kind of embarrassing and mostly centered around people being uncomfortable and awkward and vaguely sad and somehow they think that's entertaining
>>
The US Office is lame Reddit shit.
>>
>>215079090
>conventionally attractive
He looks like a polish peasant. If he was average height he would be sub 5 lmao
>>
>>215079105
He's a good looking guy, maybe not according to the incel looksmaxxing science but in real life that is a handsome man
>>
>>215079090
UK television reflects the nation's people - repulsive freaks who vilify virtue and worship vice. Thirty years in that country (as a native son before someone calls me a non) and I will never return to it.

Take whatever you think hillbillies (or bogans for Aussies) are and multiply that by a thousand. That's not a subculture within British society - that's British society.
>>
>>215083105
Gareth seems like he would rape a women without a second thought if he knew he could get away with it.

It isn’t

everyone would do that
>>
>>215079090
None of you in this thread have real opinions and are just parroting Twitter takes.
>>
>>215088535
It's not just entertainment, the UK show is kind of a work of art and it's actually trying to say something. The point isn't just to be funny, it's a cynical criticism of office culture.

>>
>>215088535
>>215080044
This is just reductive. Social awkwardness is just one aspect of British humour. I'd say it's actually more common in Japanese humour than British. For example, Brass Eye is about media hysteria, Yes, Minister is about intractable bureaucracy tormenting the sane, Marenghi's Darkplace is about shoddy novels and daytime dramas, etc.
>>
>>215089619
As a yuro, the UK is so weird to me. I just don't understand how the culture of the centre of an empire ends up that lame and irrelevant. I've never once met a british person who didn't radiate that familiar boring sadness. The irish are just defined by sports, seething that nobody cares whether they're british or not, and endless drinking and talking about nothing on a wet little island. You can be irrelevant and drink every day and you can have a chip on your shoulder about your national identity and culture, but you can't do both. Watch the Gentlemen with Matthew Mcowhatever and think for a solid ten seconds about who that movie was made for, and that's every british guy I've ever met. Some are big some are small some are young and some are old but they are all. the same. guy.
>>
>>215089878
It's just how I see them. I can start to understand all these wildly different cultures' culturally specific miseryporn sadfag media, but not the UK's. I see the UK's /out/doors as a good metaphor. It's not big, it's not unique, there is no freedom or privacy, when you get there you realize that its greatness is a myth. Maybe I just don't relate to being miserable in that specific, penned-in living with your mother and permanently having bags under your eyes way. Maybe I'm just not british.
>>
>>215079173
Why do Brits have pride in the most mundane, unimportant things?
>>
>>215079209
>>215087305
They portrayed Roy as too relatable and sympathetic, to the point that they had to commit a complete character assassination. They have him trash the bar when he finds out about Jim kissing Pam, and that's supposed to remind us that oh Roy sucks actually and is the wrong for wanting to fight Jim ... Because he just is ok???

>>
>>215090388
What else do they have? Teaching Indians English hundreds of years ago? Losing to Maori with stone axes? Losing the most significant series of colonies the world has ever seen in the blink of an eye? Beating the French a few times? Getting tricked into ganging up on Germany and losing half their population over it?
Isaac Newton maybe idk
>>
>>215090518
Yeah I bet the real brits are up north. You boys must be the old breed. Go back to laying brick and being unintelligible I don't care about your spat with people eight miles from your doorstep

>>215090565
Did the British kill your goldfish or something?
>>
>>215090618

>>
>>215084874
Dwight isn’t a kid, he should correct his behavior or kill himself because we don’t want his kind in our society
>>
>>215081542
I'm American and I prefer the UK version, I prefer how the original keeps David as a shitty boss and the company as a failure, rather than the US version where Michael is made too sympathetic and the Scranton office is somehow the company's most successful branch. It just felt like the US version wanted to be feel-good at the expense of what makes the premise work so well. It's also why Season 1 of the US Office is the best season, even if it filtered normies.
>>
>>215090666
seems like most people were fine with him

The actor who played Jim has experienced something that's caused his voice to raise 2 octaves or so. Idk what. It's weird though.

I dont think you understand what character assassination is
Him trashing the bar is not out of character because we've not ever seen him in a situation as rage inducing prior. You're defending a retard for ??? reason. Baffling.
>>
>>215090399
>hey anon-kun you know how I broke off our wedding and you gained 60 lbs and got arrested for drunk driving, and then spent the next year trying to win me back. Well that’s coz my bestie Jimbo kissed me a month before the wedding tee-hee ~
It speaks well to his character that he didn’t punch her in her face quite honestly. A woman would’ve been expected to slap him at the very least if you reversed the genders
>>
The thing about Pam and Roy’s relationship is that the only way it makes sense is if Roy laid unbelievably good pipe. Which Jim has to be aware of, seeing as Pam was far more flirty and sexual with Roy in the office than she ever was or would be with him.
