Like 90% of the good samurai movies take place after guns were introduced to Japan, even your pic has them, and frankly japanese matchlock guns are kino as fuck. Anyway, ignoring your rules:

>The Hidden Fortress 1958 (This movie was actually the inspiration for star wars)
>Kagemusha 1980(my personal favorite)
>Ran 1985
>Rashomon 1950(this one actually does satisfy all your rules but despite being set in feudal japan im still not sure if it counts as a "samurai" movie)

does anyone know/remember what that samurai movie was called where its this grumpy old man samurai with a little kid
the only scene i remember from that movie is a bar scene where the old guy throws the little kid outside the tavern and the kid is outside banging on the door and crying.
