What was the message of this film?
Pretty simple. Kurt Russell told Tarantino about his dad’s career in Hollywood B western shows and how his best friend was his stunt guy. Tarantino turned it into a script and added some Manson hero fantasy ending. It’s not rocket science.

>>215083902Tarantino films have no messages, there's no substance at all
>>215083902Once Upon A Time In Hollywood pairs well with Babylon. Both have Brad Pitt and Tugboat gives the performance of a lifetime and both movies are about Hollywood’s acknowledgement that Hollywood is dead. (((They))) know.
>>215083902It just historical revisionism wish fulfillment for Tarantino, just like Basterds and Django were.
>>215083902>Bruce lee is a phony>Jail bait is good but will give you jail time if you are famous>Middle aged men are still good for their worth>Hippies deserve to be burned alive with a flamethrower>Bromance can flower everywhere>Le golden age of hollywood was le golden age indeed
>>215083902fuck hippies
>>215083902Polanski didn't have to be a rapist but the cruel universe forced him to be one so we should forgive Weinstein.
>>215083902Nostalgia bait for a past Hollywood era, like a lot of Tarantino's choices
>>215083972Tarantino was trying to show that the Manson crimes were crimes of opportunity and had no plan or purpose. But he totally missed an opportunity by ending the crimes with cartoonist violence and flame throwers because he is just a hack. Brad Pitt could have just seduced the mansion girls and leo get fucked by tex watson then had them all end up in bed till morning.
I always viewed it as a nostalgia piece for the late 60s. Sharon Tate in the movie represented this with picking up the hitch hiker, dancing to music, here happy go lucky mood. In real life the Manson family killed that era but in this fantasy the happy fun 60s continues cause Sharon Tate lives.
