Just listened to this via audiobook and the story is god awful>Both child characters are annoying as fuck>almost every male character is an asshole or an idiot or both>only "male" that isn't is a FtM>MC is an insufferable girlboss who whips the miners into a motley crew against the xenos>she says shit like "all men are assholes">We meet the engineers just for them to instantly be discarded and they become infected with black goo xenos>The xenos are red and tougher for some reason due to them coming from the native fauna which has consumed a special mineral in thats only brought up in this book iirc also the engineers make use of it here and only on this temple on the planet and that makes them stronger for some reason>Zula hendricks (once a fucking gain) and her synthetic daughter made out of a love between her and a combat synth named davis from the comic but she doesnt even touch planetside so idk why even having either of them here to make the universe smaller>We finally see the ship behind the border bombings we have been hearing about and it goes out like a wet fart due to some missiles fired from a dropship bringing it down>Turns out that the border bombings arent even being done by the engineers or space jockeys but are fucking synths being controlled to make humanity think its the engineers>This book is dedicated to immigrants, those who have no safe home blabla bullshitOnly good part was a multi-national task force made up of TWE, UA and UPP to deal with xenos and seeing the goodboys once again even tho they dont do anything to the xenos like we see in "Into chabyrdis" (A much better book).
