It was over hated imo. It wasn't as good as the first season, but it wasn't as terrible as people act like it was. It was mid at worst. The finale was fantastic and the best episode of the whole show so far so that bumps it up a few points too.

There’s nowhere to go after s2 that will be any good.

I hate it when shows do this. They have no idea where to take it past the first season so they wander around too much then can’t stick the inevitably rushed landing. Season two didnt get us anywhere really kind of a let down as far as plot but it was still entertaining I guess.

I marathoned both seasons over the last 6 weeks, first time watch. Season 1 was much stronger and tighter, Lumon felt like an actual threat, genuinely frightening. Season 2 made em look incompetent by comparison. They lost that disturbing uncanny feel. A fair few negatives:
>Gemma stuff felt poorly paced, just dumped it all in one episode
>likewise for Ms Cobel solo episode, worst in the show
>brain surgeon character is miserable and not fun to watch, DEI actress sucks
>irving gay plot fizzles out, character just disappears from the story

But plenty of good stuff
>great opening episode
>camerawork, editing, sets, etc all still top-tier in TV
>Milchick is always fun, still one of the best characters
>big Icelandic nigga was scary and intimidating
>cute asian kid was a great actress, added a bit to the Lumon lore
>Helly outie getting horny for mark
>mark and Helly romance is well-executed
>finale episode was great, revealed enough to be satisfying while still keeping some of le mystery box for next season

They’re gonna have to work hard to get the show back to Season 1 quality. And if there’s any integrity at Apple TV studios (kek) they will make S3 the last.
