>ending filters millions of children and makes them seethe for years after.

I don't think people were upset about ash losing once, they were upset about him losing continuously and then especially upset about some new character with a god team appearing out of nowhere when everybody expected him to finally win.

Sex with Liko

well duh, Ash didnt train a single fucking day prior to this, barely won any badges and had people just give them to him out of the kindness of their hearts. Of course he was going to get his shit pushed in.

Ash losing made me lower my expectations for my childhood and adult life, to disastrous but predictable effect
>>
>>215093198
I've never seen the show's ending. I've been aware of this show my entire life.

Should I bother watching it to the end, or just ask anon to explain this ending and why it caused seethe?
>>
>>215093198
What made it worse is he lost to a clone of himself that used the same shitmons.

It was supposed to have celebi in it but they saved it for the 4th movie instead

This episode inspired me a lot as a kid. I had always just assumed the main character always wins, so when it happened and seeing how Ash handled it I think taught me a bunch of useful lessons that would be helpful later on in life.

Genuinely a kino way to end that arc in my most honest opinion.

I stopped watching when he left Charizard.

>big fat turtle
>giant boring plant
>a literal fucken dragon
Imagine not choosing Charmander
>>
>>215093198
It was frustrating that he lost because the Charizard refused to fight. If he had just lost straight up because the other kid was better that would have been easier to swallow.

Ash's fault for not being a competent trainer. It was a hard lesson to learn.

>>215093198
We followed the wrong protagonist. Plus, the other Pikachu looks cooler with the air.

He wanted to be the very best.
Like no one ever was.
However the Charizard was his real test.
and he failed at that cause.
see he traveled across the land, searching far and wide, but he failed to understand him being the main character was a lie.
charizard fucking suck my balls
