Times where this rule got broken and it left you, the viewer, with extreme blueballs and you got pissed off at the writer/ director.Alternatively, what are some times where this trope was expertly set up and it paid off immensely for you?
>>215096074The rule is broken every time a kino with a qt that has big tits or a fat ass doesn't do anything with either!
Only Lovers Left Alive
>>215096074Saw has got to be the Chekov's gunniest moment in film history
>>215096074I thought it was kinda showy when in The Nice Guys Gosling goes for Crowes ankle gun cause it was set up earlier but since it was set up in a dream sequence the gun was obviously not there in reality. It seemed like Shane Black just wanted to show off how good of a screenwriter he is.
>>215096074Lost is littered with undischarged chekovian guns, a whole arsenal of them...
Breaking bad plane crash thing. Kept showing the house with shit all over it as though it was in the aftermath of a massive drug war shootout. The reveal was my final straw and I've hated that retarded fucking show ever since.
>>215096810X Files as well
In Jurassic Park 3, there’s a whole scene early on where two of the guys are on the beach testing out some crazy explosive weapons and then they die almost immediately and the weapons are never seen or mentioned again.
>>215096985you are actually retarded lol
>>215096074sword art online.they had a whole murder mystery episode, where the result was that the girl got killed by her husband so that he could steal the valuable item she had. because they were married, they have a shared inventory. he was able to secretly retrieve and sell the ring because of this.kirito and asuna get married.in the big fight, asuna is incapacitated and kirito (dual wielding swords) must fight the big bad guy. bad guy breaks one of kirito's swords. asuna dies. kirito just picks up her sword from the ground and breaks through system checks/rules because reasons. HOW IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED is that kirito's sword breaks, asuna dies, and kirito's rage rush seems simple and straightforward with only one blade, but he MATERIALIZES asuna's sword using the shared inventory from marriage to SURPRISE the villain and overcome him that way. THAT would have been absolutely kino, but no. we got dogshit. which should have tipped me off that the series was only going to go downhill from there. reki kawahara is a fucking hack.
>>215097785I still don't understand the deal of why the sister is a love interest. I get that niche porn exists with that genre, but that it's in a major mainstream anime and mostly unquestioned is what gets me
>>215096810Libby in the mental hospitalThe Russian dude who comes back to lifeCan't think of any others, it's been about 15 years since I saw it
>>215097843its not unquestioned by viewers, but its not exactly reciprocated by kirito either. the overly affectionate younger sister thing isnt fully a porn trope either. part of it is literally the admiration that big brother is such a perfect guy that he's even a viable partner despite having grown out of the childish affection stage. its an ego/narcissism thing for the self inserts. literally every female character wants him. its stupid and bad writing. at the end of the day, all of the problems with it can be attributed to the fact that reki kawahara is a absolute hack and awful writer.
>>215097059I was just watching that. That scene made no sense. They were shooting a junked plane with basically a 50 cal but it's explosive. The one guy is describing the gun like the jewish script writer is isn't every gun world he's ever heard but doesn't understand what it means. >It's a locking bolt group carrier breach face browning tilt high explosive fully semi auto bolt action muzzle loading tracer squib. Here, let's shit up this runway to prove a point. Maybe it was to distract you from the 3d printed raptor skull that was the real checkovs gun.
>>215097986>The one guy is describing the gun like the jewish script writer is isn't every gun world he's ever heard but doesn't understand what it means.Good morning saar.

I dropped Daima on the spot in rage over SS4 being made canon but didn't the fusion bugs never get used?
>>215096985that's not what a chekov's gun is
Every scene of the Final Destination movies were loaded with red herrings. It was fun trying to guess the next cause of death
In The Secret World of Alex Mack (mid-90s TV series) https://youtu.be/9DAORNCSkGcShe receives her powers by being irradiated in a particle accelerator after having been exposed to chemicals. When she enters the particle accelerator, a big spider comes inside too. This spider was never seen, mentioned, or had any impact on the rest of the series whatsoever....Now that I think about it, this was just a nod to Spiderman, was it?
>>215096074>Alternatively, what are some times where this trope was expertly set up and it paid off immensely for you?Aliens. The loader. Half the people I talk to about the movie totally forgot about it up until the very end. The other half say they knew it would come into play at some point and they're glad it did
