In the first movie we see he comes from a well-off family, this is intentional. One day he just kills his sister for no reason. He was born bad. This is why retellings or alternate renditions are always shitty. What's the point. Just make a new character. Rob Zombie easily could have just made an entirely separate movie unrelated to the Halloween franchise.
