Sopranos is basically everything people hate about modern shows. >filler episodes >flashback episodes>girlboss episodes>interracial episodes>gay episodes>the writers preaching their leftist opinions episodesWhy does it get a pass?
It was made before chuds got indoctrinated by online culture war propaganda
typically low iq reductive take
>>215106511People were more naive back then so they took subversive shit at face value. Then we got 20 years of "Whiteness is a disease that needs to be eradicated" and trans beavers in Blue's Clues, and now no one falls for it anymore.
>>215106511just monstrous levels of projection here lol
>>215106441can you fuckers ever just enjoy watching something without brining politics and agendas into it?
>>215106583Why describe your own post?
>>215106590yeah in the before times of less than 20 years ago people were just way more trusting and innocent.
>>215106441Dude that’s fucking life especially in a blue state like NJ. How are you going to be mad that they were imitating reality?
>>215106637>without bringing politics and agendas into itBut I didn't write the show?
>>215106511I bet you didn't think men were women ten years ago lol
It's funny to watch Italian-Americans bumble around and trying to piece together their clusterfuck lives.
>>215106441retard
>>215106441It's the first modern show. Peak tv before sopranos was Frasier. Without it you'd only have reality tv slop.
>>215106441any blacked episodes in it?
>>215106441Because it was good
>>215106441none of what you said is true
>>215106441yeah but tony was le based so the subversion is actually le based too
>>215107118Every single one of those things happen. Some have entire seasons devoted to them.
>>215106441I genuinely don't get why chuds love this show and think its based or something kek, almost everytime there is something right wing it's in a negative or critical way
>>215106441I don't know. My generation didn't watch it.The woke generation did.
Ooooh look at that fanook OP talkin out his ass ova eere
>>215106441This and The Wire are the most overrated shows there is.
>>215107686It's mostly for the memes.
>>215106614If you read or understand any of the dumb shit posted online you'd know it's true
>>215106441Here's your (You)
>>215106511Seething like a schoolboy. Chit chattin with fuckin chuddies
>>215106441>filler episodes????you lost me on the first arrow post, you idiot. The Defiler episode is kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKncY8Lgw5E
>>215107727Sopranos overall is a good show but it's definitely overrated, it was not near as good as people hyped it up to be.
I can spot a POOjeet thread from a mile away, this site is finished.
>>215106441>2 or 3 filler (still entertaining) episodes in the entire series. >The women are portrayed as flawed. Girl boss is a modern regression in characters. >Who? Meadow’s first bf is a smarmy fuck and nobody likes him >Vito is pathetic and his gay escape fantasy is cringe I’ll give you that but it’s not exactly portrayed as this great thing. Unlike modern tv there is no moralizing. >I wouldn’t say preaching.
>>215107768Very telling how the thread is 30 posts in and no one can offer up a counterargument, they just post because they're mad.
>>215107784There's not really too many full on filler episodes but there is a lot of wasted time. Did we really need to see fatfaggot on his gay adventure?
>>215107727they're good for one watch and that's it. they don't really hold up that well and there's 0 rewatchability.
>>215107812>Discussing and pointing out a show's flaws while still appreciating good aspects about it is poojeet
>>215107803It came out when there wasn't anything like it on cable TV and HBO's biggest hit of the time. If you pitched "A show about mobsters but it brings in focus on their personal lives and psychology" today it would get a "meh", but back in 1998 it was a high concept show idea that was gonna push boundaries and make headlines which it did.
>>215107876It has a great pay off and cant say its out of the blue when Fin catches him a season earlier. Also like he gives up the life in exile after one day of hard work. He'd rather risk death than another day of that
>>215107923Yeah, but people need to have more appropriate expectations when watching this show. If you have seen a lot of famous modern shows, then The Sopranos is not gonna blow you away
>>215107923Nah it’s great
>>215107943>this anon thinks a man being sodomized to death is a great payoffholy fagola, marone
>>215107979do you think the pool cue was chalked?
>>215107972Didn't say it wasn't, but with TV today it may have gotten a pass.
>>215106441Vito's finook subplot was kino, fuck off retard.
The dream episodes are crap. The dream trope is brought up fucking constantly throughout the series, but the three episodes dedicated to dream sequences drag. This boring, surreal, "all dreams have relevant meaning to whatever the dreamer is going through" gets old really quick. Same with the near constant scenes of the fat fuck watching TV.
okay, get this, y'all... it's a show about MOBSTERS... but instead of doing problematic mob things...they go to THERAPY and take ZOLOFT and struggle with TOXIC MASCULINITY and discuss their daughter's BLACK BOYFRIEND! see, people just want a cool show about mobsters but it's actually an EPIC DECONSTRUCTION of that and we're making fun of them!
>>215108096I wished the dream episode at the beginning of Season 6 was dedicated entirely to Tony's dream experience rather than constantly cutting to different character's pov and plotlines like a lot of formulaic shows do. It could have made it much more impactful imo, imagine the entire episode was a dream sequence and at the very end Tony wakes up to Carmela and Meadow at the hospital. Could have been Kino
>>215108055I'd bet ten bucks you were screeching about the gay episode in TLOU.
>>215108284I'd rather just watch a David Lynch movie at that point.
>>215108548A lot of The Sopranos already feels pretty David Lynchian cause of the dream sequences, The Test Dream already is another episode basically dedicated entirely to a dream sequence
>>215108421I didn't watch that, but more importantly I'm not sure why you're making that assumption based on my previous reply.
There is no filler in sopranos it's all character building which is the essence of the show, there's not many flashback sequences either.
>>215108592Yeah, and it's poorly done and tedious. The dream sequences are boring as fuck and don't tell us anything we don't already know.
>>215107686Yeah that rant about blacks stealing bikes is totally anti chud
>>215107803Than what is the actual best drama since you said sopranos is overrated.
>>215108634Nah I like them because they tend to actually do something interesting with the filmmaking
>>215107943It's also got his DUI murder scene which is one of the best murders in the show, and yeah the counting the minutes working scene is top tier aswell
>>215106441Crazy to think how much trouble these Itallians have made They are far worse than Mexicans but none of these Itallians were deported why?Look at how many people these Itallians murdered bribed extorted blackmailed and so on
>>215108421Haven't watched TLOU but I'd bet 100 bucks they're completely different
>>215108700Because Mexicans are brown and low iq, Italians are much better
>>215108635One of the core messages of the show is that mobsters are glorified niggers and scenes like that are meant to show the hypocrisy of murderous wops being racist towards blacks.
>>215108653Evangelion
>>215108673>>215108548Refer. Once you've seen one you've seen them all.
>>215108055It's the worst part of the show anon.
>>215108943It's the worst part of the show if you have shit taste, yes.
>>215108989The most interesting aspect of that plotline for me was how it explored the theme of criminals failing to defer gratification and taking the easy way out. But other than that it felt pretty underwhelming and didn't strike me as being one of the best parts of the show.
Why did Ralphie beat his goomah to death outside of the Bing?
damn. a boomer 1990 show is still talked about daily. must be shit.
>>215109103she said she was keeping the kid. and the coke.
>>215109278>she was a hooah
>>215106441It's a perfect representation of America in a certain window of time.
>>215106441Because retards can't understand what they're watching and take everything at face value. People see a funny Mafia show where the guys are all earning money, fucking, and winning fights. The entire purpose of the show as a deconstruction of Mafia's glamour and it's dwindling influence is lost on them.
It's also boring, corny, samey, and poorly acted. Everyone is pretending to like it.
>>215109453The acting literally carries the show
uhh guys.. i think its great however season 4 has been really weak so far. what happened here?
>>215107686Sounds like they lack... media literacy?
>>215109593Where in Season 4 are you? For me Season 3 was the first good season, and Season 4 was great. Season 5 is pretty good and Season 6 was the peak of the show for me personally
>>215109593I think 4 was the one they had to rewrite because that one old guy had dementia irl >>215108193kek
>>215109657>the one they had to rewrite because that one old guy had dementia irlI think that Season 5, are you talking about Feech
>>215109679Yes, my bad
>>215109629I just watched episode 3 - "Christopher". felt like a cheap B tier daytime tv drama. even the acting between tony and melfi has been poor so far. it also feels like the show may have peaked in terms of popularity here? you know when it feels like the writers are imagining the audience's response / watercooler talk the next day.. in that shitty pandering way that fucked game of thrones>>215108096i think the dream sequences are the best ive seen on tv. they actually feel like dreams. and in that same way when they overstay their welcome I just want to wake up
>>215106441Roger Ebert over here
I really don't know. I gave this show a chance but when they went to Italy and realized a woman was running the mafia, I tapped out. At the same time, they introduced some "cool hip hop nigger thug" character and Chrissy's whore gf was all into him.... just lol.
>>215109803Yeah understandable it's a pretty slow and boring season, I think it's partially because the budget was reduced for that season. But the main plotline with Ralph in Season 4 is really good, one of my favorites in the show.
>>215109858no no but you see it is le based because the villain character says fag occasionally (he is gay btw)
>>215110092>(he is gay btw)How do you know who's gay or not? What, you got a little secret or something?
>>215110092kek
>>215108193If Sopranos came out today I guarantee /tv/ would hate it for exactly this.
I'm rewatching L O S T and the flashbacks are getting annoying when I just want to get to the good stuff. I didn't mind it when watching it on air.
>fillerIs there a more misused word by fucking retarded faggot zoomers? Why are these subhumans so obsessed with MUH PLOT
>OH MY FUCKING FAUCI SCIENCE DID THOSE CHARACTERS JUST DO SOMETHING RELATIVELY MUNDANE AND TALK TO EACH OTHER? WHERES MUH FUCKING PLOT?????????
test
>>215106441it gets a pass because it's subtle, honest answer. sopranos is my favorite tv show but it is a massive bait and switch. you could say everything leads up to allowing gays in the mafia, or deconstructing masculinity. all the good shows work the same way. the woke shit is trickled out slower.
>>215106637/tv/ is /pol/ for redditors.
You are retard like little baby
>>215110379>OH MY HECKERINOS PUPPERINOS ARE THOSE CHARACTERS HAVING A POINTLESS MINDLESS CONVERSATION?? WOOOOW THIS IS SOOOOO GOOD!.
