What do people not like about Gladiator 2?
I haven't seen it, in fact I kinda rolled my eyes when I heard about it, but I've also never heard anyone say what's actually wrong with it. And I watched a trailer recently and it looked pretty good.

I have yet to be convinced the movie is actually bad.

plot falls apart in the final act and the link to the original with paul mescal being ~~maximus' son~~ was completely unnecessary. the movie would've worked without it and been stronger for it. denzel is also completely misplaced, but i can somewhat accept it considering he loved ridley's brother. however, with the exception of the first baboon fight, i thought the effects and digital stuff was quite well done.
