Does anyone else think this is a boring movie? Just watched it. I didn't like it at all. The self aware aspect of it is kept at a minimum so it isn't that. I can't explain why it is boring but it is boring. Maybe because the phone calls get tiresome and is kind of samey each one and they're not scary scenes, Ghostface is not scary at all when he talks to whoever is on the line.
It's a mass audience movie for sure, not one for horror fans. It takes time to lay out stuff that fans of the genre wouldn't need explaining.
It came off as a comedy to me. It is very much a normie horror flick. And that ending... Like was that meant to be anything but laughable? I watched the squeal and it just gets worse, I get it though, I understand why it was successful in bringing slashers back. Also it had lots of hot girls I guess?

it's probably a boring movie now because so many better horror movies have come out since Scream started, but it's important to remember that in the mid-90s slasher/horror franchises were completely dead until Scream came along
