>stable job>daily morning exercise>strong sense of communityWhy is this supposed to be a dystopia again?
>>215110771you kid but i bet a lot of /tv/tards unironically think this would be perfectly fine
No heckin freedom of speecherino
>>215111135It really is mindboggling how many lefty kids unironically believe their "paradise" will come and they can just hang out in an apartment and play video games and order take in all day when it happens
>blink a few too many times suggesting inner tension and therefore you are a terrorist>get v& and sent to torture room where your worst fears are realized>die worshipping your leaders like godsSeems pretty shitty, but the britbongs seem to have adapted ok
>>215111173this feels like a bot reply
>>215110771Follow small rules and break big ones.
>>215111246If you go back and read 1984 you see that the story has a huge fatal flaw in it. That is that the surveillance and control applied only to the party members who were only a small percentage of the population. The vast majority were the proles who lived in relative poverty but were free from government control and surveillance. A modern police surveillance state like the UK everybody is a party member.
>>215110771jews feel unsafe (not in control)
>>215111420Because the proles were to dumb to ever revolt.
>>215111420Not really a flaw, it's covered pretty well in the text. The proles are left to their own devices but the thought police are always active amongst them to spot any starting to become a threat, in which case they're quietly bumped off.Winston put all his hope in a prole rebellion, O'Brien smugly assumed they were pacified and would never rebel. I think an internal power grab between the thought police and the inner party probably finished INGSOC in the end.
>>215110771If commies round up and kill all the blacks and browns then it's better than what we have now
>>215110771>living in an apartment pod>no 4chan extremism, only (((propaganda))) 24/7>(((eternal war))) just because>no sex without government authorization> If you dare to do a minuscule critique about (((big brother))), you'll end up in rehabilitation camps where they brutally (((re-educate))) youLet's not mention that poverty is a major problem in the book. That stable job won't be of much use. 1984 is pure misery from beginning to end.
>>215110771You can do that in any society. You could have done that years ago right now.
>>215110771it may seem great while it lasts, but after a while you see your manager as a moron and going to job is not fun anymore
>>215111693as long as your job is a meaningless waste of time your boss can comfortably be as retarded as he likes
