When your workmanship isn't the best it exposes wrestling for what it truly is: pomp, theater, pageantry wrapped under a thin veneer of vanity, adultery and lust. I look at AJ Lee's performance and while I have enjoyed this "sport" in the past I can't help but see wrestling as an alternative to getting an actual job that gives back. It's all about self and the promotion of self. "Getting over" and the like. Having so much value and "selling" yourself to the damage sustained in the match. Spending a lifetime risking life and limb and permanent injury for the sake of "entertainment" when at the end of the day you're just hoping that this industry doesn't collapse so you don't have to get a "real" job. And AJ Lee's appeal was her being sexually availability and looking attractive whether she was wrestling or not. She was cute and available and had a history of being a fan so she was endearing to the people who were there during her prime run. But now? You're just bringing back a married woman. A married woman who, like Nikki Bella, had to have it dawn on her that it was her looks that carried her not her in-ring performance. Not whatever *this* is. But men and women will readily watch this so long as their eyes get to take in tight, shiny, sweaty muscle as they stifle laughter and/or boredom.
