Why did it flop?https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15175073/leonardo-dicaprio-one-battle-woke-flop.html
because it's retarded and should be forgotten about
>blockbuster>PTApick one and only one. Leo is a Netflix actor now. He had a good run, longer than most.
>>215128231it was dull and none of the characters were engaging.
Trump supporters eat shit no one fucking cares Movie was kino
>>215128231Is that thing pregnant?
>filters you
>dailymail>blockbuster>"pro-Antifa"So much retardation in one headline, even for the daily mail
>>215128231I have no clue. Muhahahaaa!Im already done with this thread..go away now!
it never should have had a budget that big, PTA just isn't the kind of director who's ever going to sell enough movie tickets to recoup that. it doesn't make the movie bad though.
>>215128231Nigger/Leftie fatigue. Also competing against anime kino
Why did it cost 150 fucking million? Did Leo take half of that budget into his pocket? It wasn't any larger in scale than Garland's Civil War nor is the VistaVision technology giga expensive, The Brutalist used it and cost 10 million. PTA really just caved in to Leo's demand for a massive fucking paycheck. The film looks like it should've cost 80 million at most. Sinners from earlier this year was full of special effects including a complex actor cloning effect and that didn't cost more than 100 million.
Unc Dicaprio thinks he's in the Obama era still.Vaping and Vine (the app)
>>215128231>Why did it flop?Because it's basically a three hour trantifa the movie
>>215128408>it doesn't make the movie bad though.no, the movie's lack of merit does
...dafuq?
>>215128231Be woke GO BROKE
>>215128456I was thinking the same thing. The only scene with a huge scale was the riot in the city. The rest is pretty low budget. How the hell it cost 150 million?
based stephanieposter
>>215128501>no, the movie's lack of merit doeshow would you describe this lack of merit?
>>215128231Nobody likes antifa
>>215128231Leo has never starred in a single good movie.
>>215128456i was thinking the same thing, it did look good but even the action sequences were kind of mellow compared to most movies i've seen, the car chase was not impressive i'm surprised how hyped it was. i did like the movie though
>>215128231There are so many things an established Hollywood actor just can't say on camera.Ask him if he cares about this flop? He could say that he doesn't because he's fucking loaded and doesn't give a shit about any studio's success rate, effectively ending his career.
It flopped because the trailers sucked, Leo has alcohol bloat. He's the perfect wrong person to cast in this movie because a lot of the people that would be drawn to this movie have political brain rot and think he should be cancelled for fucking young, legal clout chasers instead of marrying an old hag like them.
>It's been 10 years since the dicaprio doesn't have an oscar meme endedHoly shit
>>215128708More like don't spend 150 million on Pynchon adaptations by PTA.Wicked basically works as a metaphor for Drumpf admin persecuting trannies, and the monkey surveillance shit works as a parallel to Palantir but cause it's candy coated crowd pleaser musical the sequel might be hitting a billie at the box office this year.
>>215128231I'm still waiting for a Turner Diaries movie.
>>215128231These types of movies aren't made to make a profit. They're made to win little gold-plated statues.
any movie or show that flops really hard will ultimately do so because its simply just shit regardless of it's politics however overt they are and how much viewers want to like it because of them
It's really sad to me that the only way people can work out in their brains to criticize this movie is the standard console wars sales chart shit. What happened to /tv/?
>>215128231>Start making movie when anti-government sentiments are high and Antifa is seen as the good guy>By the time movie comes out, people are hating Antifa for wrecking their cities and making travel downtown impossible and dangerousIf you try to drive from Idaho to Southwest Washington State, Google's GPS will now re-route you to go all the way around the city of Portland and avoid it. Normally it's the fastest route to go through the heart of the city. Either Google wants to protect me, or it's literally impossible to get through with all of the roads being blocked right now.
>>215128231Have they figured out yet "the modern audience" doesn't exist? And that they are proponents of an extreme cult like fringe ideology and not champions of the silent masses (who they nakedly despise)?
>>215129243Anyone who loves cinema despises the masses.
>>215128231Di Caprio only did One Battle After Another to appease SJW's (mostly Cat Ranchers such as in the attached pic) who have been attacking him for decades for dating younger women and lecturing people on environmentalism while riding in private planes and yachts!!!FACT!!!
>>215128909It's just a very successful musical based on a wildly popular classic movie that along with everything else is a cultural identifier for gay men. If George Clooney were president it would make a billion dollars
>>215129340Also...LEONARDO DICAPRIO, BRYAN SINGER AND THE PECK(ER) CONNECTION!!!FACT!!!Brian Peck, former actor and co-star of Return of the Living Dead (Scuz), is friends with Bryan Singer. In 2002 I got X-Men on DVD and at the time I didn't understand why Peck shared an audio commentary with Singer and was not only at the Ellis Island Premiere, seen in the DVD extras, but also cameoed as "hot dog vendor", in the scene when Senator Kelly walks out of the ocean, with Stan Lee next to him.Peck acted as a children's "acting coach" and was rumored to have been feeding young boys to Singer, amongst others, which explains the cameo, possibly an in joke between the two as Peck's character is supplying fresh young wieners. Peck did time for molesting a young boy while I use to give Singer the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't a pedofaggot but no more after this info came to light.Below is a video of a young LEONARDO DICAPRIO on the set of Growing Pains with BRIAN PECK who was his stand-in.https://youtu.be/5ZP3DR0qEms?si=nxNrGswS7oS0qPTS While it's interesting that after What's Eating Gilbert Grape he did two movies with homosexuality right after, The Basketball Diaries and Total Eclipse then teen heartthrob roles leading to Romeo & Juliet and Titanic, probably because his agent told him to knock off the faggot shit.So just like Tom Cruise, DiCaprio is a closet fag who uses women as cover for his cock gobbling semen extracting activities while no one has ever asked Leo about Peck nor has he gone on record about him!!!FACT!!!
One Battle After Another was always an Oscar Bait Prestige movie and it will make money in a slow burn.
>>215129388>It's just a very successful musical based on a wildly popular classic movie that along with everything else is a cultural identifier for gay men.>If George Clooney were president it would make a billion dollarsWicked could have made 10X more with better casting!!!FACT!!!
>>215128762Wolf of Wall Street. He was good in that because he played a drug addict asshole (himself)
>>215129243You made this identical post (down to the absolutely identical image) in the absolutely identical thread in /pol/ about this movie>>>/pol/518467483
>>215128231It failed cause DiCaprio isn't the star people think he is anymore and the advertising sucked. People think it's about terrorists and counter-terrorism or whatever but it's really about DiCaprio and his daughter. That leads to poor word of mouth and a bunch of people who won't watch it cause of recent events.
>>215128456It doesn't look like a $120 million movie either and Leo couldn't have possibly cost more than $30 million up front by any stretch of the imaginationI assume it's all from the rampant parasitism of shooting anything more than a talking head drama in California
>>215129724Why is nothing being done about the offsite coordinated /pol/shit spam on /tv/?
>>215128231>Why did it flop?most of PTA's movies flop. Inherent Vice, Punch-Drunk Love, Licorice Pizza, The Master, Phantom Thread, Cigarettes & Coffee. His only movies that made money at the box office were Boogie nights, magnolia and there Will Be blood.
>>215129844/tv/ is pretty fucking dead. Most posts can last over a day and they'd still have about 50 replies. It's the only way to keep it afloat.
>>215128231Did they expect this to do well? Why would they think that was possible?
>>215129104no it's not and it's never been I've driven from WA across the bottom of Idaho many times and Portland is out of the way. You're always routed by the grand couleeI hate Portland but I might hate you more for spreading such blatant disinformation you absolute fucking faggot, it has NEVER been the fastest routeWords cannot describe how much I despise you
>>215129862It's sad they don't because he's such a good filmmaker. I just want him to be able to continue making kino
>>215129724>>215129724they're angry about One battle after Another being Pro leftist propaganda. They've obviously never seen it..... also OP is a fag that probably posted both threads and the one on /lit/ too >>>/lit/24786229
>>215128456Leo costs $25 million as standard. It cost that much because PTA is a little rentboy for Hollywood's money laundering schemes and doesn't actually have anything of value to say. He's McDonald's arthouse.
>>215129104Only the extremely ignorant support antifa. They do exist because the media blanetltly lies about them
>>2151282311. everyone is broke2. communist down go the kinoplex2. everyone is single and the no single policy is enforced
