>>215128624I posted this in another thread that got archived:the original sequel to Tron Legacy was called Tron Ascension (Jared Leto was actually still in this film he was also going to be in Legacy during the End of the Line fight).In Acension Cillian Murphy was supposed to be the main bad guy who was stealing secrets from Flynn's company and constructing his own grid with the Dillinger family.Their Grid was supposed to be more militaristic and with their Grid they would create the Ares program which was designed to hunt down and kill Sam and Qurra in the real world.There would still be programs from the Grid having a huge battle in the real world and eventually Ares would go from being a terminator hunting down Flynn to more of an anti-hero and help them out.I don't know what Tron's role was but I guessing he would come back as well and also leave the Grid since that thematically makes sense with him.They cancelled this because of Tomorrowland, John Carter and the star wars buyout so Jared Leto took the bones of it and made it a movie about himself
