Bout to watch this for the first time. What am I in for Bondbros?
One of the best movies of the 90s.
The only bond movie i kind of sort of like
>>215141374Here's the actual poster instead of that shit you uploaded
>>215141437nah, that's the real posterbased daltonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFIm-90hZrA
>>215141374>Boris and NatalyaIt's a kino that spawned one of the greatest games of all time. I wish I could go back.
was there a single person out there who was bothered by Bond holding a gun.
>>215141374A decent but overrated Bond movie that doesn't come close to matching the 60s classics.
>>215141374Yes, considerably
>>215141500
I haven't seen it since I was a teenager but I remember Pierce giving off the weak, ineffectual vibe that even I could kick his ass.
>>215141903Sean Bean chad-mogged him hard in this movie
>>215141932I watched Dante's Peak recently and he did a fine job as the lead man. I'll have to rewatch Goldeneye
>>215142014it was a kino supernova
>>215141374a really strange transistion where Bond is still wacky and the villains colorful, but the style becomes harsher and the context slightly more gritty.
>>215141576Facility with proxy mines was the funniest shit.
>>215142459What was wacky about it?
>>215142480Hanging upside down from a vent into a cubicle where a soldier is talking a shit and punching him when he takes down the newspaper he was reading and you were hiding behind.Jumping with a motorbike after a falling plane, getting in and pulling it up in time.Racing a stranger down a serpentine road while talking to your psychlogist you are about to fuck. And all of it with a quippy oneliner. And that is within the first 20 minutes.Typical Bond wackiness.
>>215141374One of the best Bond movies.Brosnan is the last Bond actor
>>215142565Fair enough, I see your point.
>>215141374Some tummy kino.
>>215142894Famke Janssen getting dripping wet while gunning down Russian scientists was hotter. And then the steam bath.
>>215142894
>>215141374>he'll blow ze gas tanksa "russian" villian with a suspiciously german sounding accent who gets unceremoniously ditched halfway through the movie for the sake of le plotwist
>>215143340The Brosnan era really liked their German henchmen. Gottfried John in Goldeneye, Götz Otto as Stamper in Tomorrow Never Dies, Claus Oliver Rudolph has a small role as a Kazakh army officer. But they are also delightfully cavalier with nationalities. American playing a German doctor, English playing Russians (both Rob Coltrane and Rob Carlisle), Dutch playing Georgian, I just found out that Michelle Yeoh who played a Chinese spy and who I always thought of as Chinese is actually Malasian (though of ethnically chinese descent afaik).
>>215142459>Bond is still wacky and the villains colorful, but the style becomes harsher and the context slightly more gritty.Licence to Kill did it first
>>215142922It's not a competition, anon
>>215143483I think there is a bit of a reversal even. Daltons 007 was probably more reflected and troubled than Brosnan. The Teri Hatcher and Sophie Marceau stuff should be personal, but it barely slows him down. Only makes him more determined. Dalton takes the personal stuff a lot harder and iirc closer to the books where Bond's drinking and womanizing is partially a coping mechanism.
>>215143588yeah Brosnan was a pretty one dimensional Bond, almost like a parody of the character we saw in previous movies. Barbara Broccoli really watered down the character when she took over, and then did the unthinkable by turning him into a pussy ass blonde midget.
>>215143619Most of the time I am fine with Craig. At least that is what I think now having watched the movies once when they released. I'll rewatch them soon now that they are on prime
>>215141374>they photshopped the gun out of the picturelmao
>>215142894I've met Izabella irl around 2018, and even then she was pretty enough to make your knees quiver a bit
>>215143720He's just a generic action hero, no Bond qualities beyond the most superficial (ooh look he's wearing a tux) not a womanizer, not a bon viveur, doesn't smoke, drinks Heineken and treats women like queens who walk all over him. He's awful and I hate him
>>215143791Every Bond youtuber lists either Casino Royale or Skyfall as their favorite and it makes me question whether or not they even enjoy James Bond
>>215144332I have no doubt that Calvin Dyson is a real James Bond fan but the fact that he ranks those two so high in his lists is baffling to me. Like wtf dude they suck
>>215144332Not a youtuber, but I think it really is a matter of when you started watching them. I was a teenager when the Brosnan movies came out. And I did not even realize how silly they were. I had watched some of the older ones on TV, but they were just "old movies" that did not jive with me.I liked Casino Royale and Skyfall, but if I try to take a critical look at myself I think I like the idea of Bond as a character, but I don't like Bond movies. They are just too silly to be gripping action movies, but not humerous enough to be an action comedy.
>>215144415I had watched some of the older ones on TV, but they were just "old movies" that did not jive with me.weird how so many people are like this, I am younger than you, I was like 5 when Brosnan became Bond and I love old movies including the old Bond movies. Hell I can go back to the movies that inspired them like the 1930s adventure films and I love those too.
>>215143340>"Come out with Johannes Abovyohed!"Who was this third 00 agent that Ouromov mentions?
>>215144460I cannot look beyond the cheap (and or simple) looking costumes, effects and sets and the stilted action most of the time. And the editing style. In that regard Brosnan's movie feel modern and Dalton was on the edge for me.
>>215141374Unironically play the game instead. The movie is fine but really not that amazing
>>215141374>>215141437Whats the difference? Is this place so autistic that a simple change of bond just being by himself causes /tv/ to melt down?
>>215144641That fisting hand gesture ist offensive in the UK.
>>215144641Nice rock you've been living under.OP's poster (which he picked intentionally, no doubt) is Amazon's recent effort to remove guns from Bond posters.
>>215142565Not really compared to the Moore movies
>>215143457>Germans playing Russian henchmen Nobody ever mentions my boy, Necros :(>Also the only Bond badguy who fought for what he believed in as opposed to money and power
>>215141903I love Pierce Brosnan in this and anything he's in. The Long Good Friday is probably the best thing he was in, but he only gets a tiny role. But yes, I've heard someone point out that Brosnan is constantly grunting, either from exertion or pain, like a wimp. He was an excellent Bond though. Connery > Dalton = Brosnan > Moore > Craig > Lazenby imo
>>215145636
>>215145638For me it was when Pierce outchadded Mrs Doubtfire
>>215144641I despise any new poster designs for older movies which are just to trick dumb consumers to buy more blu-rays
>>215141447>Dalton fans continue to pretend he did Goldeneye because they know it is better than living Daylights and license to killBrosnan won
>>215141374I don't understand. the guns are still in the film, why not use literally any other production still?>>215144641bezos had them make these weird fucking thumbnails where they used AI to edit the guns out, the moon raker one looks weird because it AI generated moore's body and makes him look like slenderman
>>215142565The whole Q sequence too>that's my lunch!
>>215142565>no tank chase through St. Petersburg It’s like you didn’t even watch the movie
>>215141576>>215142472>TEMPLE>THROWING KNIVES
