>>215144323I just started watching, this sounds pretty based
>>215144009Is that Sharpe ? Sharpe is fun but honestly, I think it would have better if it was about a french soldier. Following a Sharp style french soldier in the Grande Army, we could have travel across Europe, see more distinctives battles and campaigns. They could have had moral dilemns about loyalty while Napoleon become more and more ambitious, when he exiled and come back, explore different political factions, show the crime and the greatness. You don't even need to be creative, there was a lot of actual soldiers that acted like IRL Sharpe : Lassale, Pelletier de Chambure... Just change the name a little so it is'nt too obvious.Bongs only saw the boring part of Napoleonic wars (exept for the war at sea). Even Waterloo is a meh tier battle compared to Eylau, Wagram or Leipzig. It's sad the french have no money to make movies or do it only for them, so we are forever condemned to let the anglo-saxon speak to the world about Napoleon.
>>215144469Bloody french
>It's very 'ard to trust a man who wants to borrow a picklock, sir.
>>215144323
>I DID MY DU'Y SIR, NOT'IN MORE.>pause..>long pause...>longer pause....>DAMN WELL DONE, SHARPE!
>>215144469we do need more napoleonic kino but a series like that would be unbelievably expensive and sharpe already didnt have huge budgets and zoomers don't care about historical kinos
>>215144323Hagman fucking legend!
>>215144469That one French officer who was married to an english woman in the episode with Hawkeswell was pretty good, DuBreton I think? He was pretty Honorable compared to most of the other French officers in the series.
>>215144009>now go away or I shall taunt you a second time
>>215144009>"Vive l'Empereur! Vive l'Empereur! Vive l'Empereur!"
>>215145428>that were close, ey sharpe
>>215145108Is'nt that a warcrime ?
>>215145428>THA'S NAHT AYE WOMAN, BABY, THA'S A MAAHN, MAAAAHN
>>215145428>Rothschild is a troon
>>215145465This is now a Christian Clavier's Napoleon 2002 miniserie thread.
>>215144323Upon spying the thread I ordered the pasta to be posted. That’s my style, sir.
>>215145666>at all times Napoleon must be depicted precisely as he is in the one single portrait every fat chinless goober knows him from. if he doesn't look like the Bill & Ted Napoleon, they won't get it>and he's got to be doing the hand thing! the morons won't get it if his hand isn't in his jacket
>>215145666I'll see your Clavier and raise you Rod Steiger.
>>215145494Not when the English, the Good Guys of History(TM) do it.But since he's Irish, yes.
What is it about the Napoleonic Wars era that produces so much kino?>Sharpe>Hornblower>Waterloo>Master & Commander
>>215145856forgot the duelists
>>215145856Because it was the most SOVLful era of warfare on both land and sea.
>>215145913*and it was one of the relatively few post-gunpowder wars in which everyone involved was on the same level in terms of technology and training. We wouldn't see another peer war until WW1.
>>215145856It's the timeless romance of the warrior. On horse or foot, a sword and a gun that shoots one shot, two if you're good. Go back far enough into mythology and a club was good enough. Don't want to infodump too much psychology tonight but all our perceptions of reality are micronarratives, we depend on extracting the heroic elements of stories and myths and use them to build our map of reality and how to conduct ourselves in the abstract. Not to mention any story, violent or not, benefits from the call to adventure to distant lands, detached from the demands and safety of civilization.
>Shitposter Hogan leaves the worst for last. He says you got BTFO.

>>215145694Who care ? Still better than Ridley's
>visit any country in the world>go to rough part of town>gang of local toughs surround you>yell "I HATE THE FRENCH!">friends for life
>>215146188Are you a retard ? The costume is clearly not about Napoleon or even french uniform. Something wearing a bicorne do not make it automatically about Napoleon
>>215146312True, those are clearly lil Zelenskys
