Nigger, you are out of your mind if you think they even compare. Has he defeated/arrested even one Black Organization member that wasn't introduced in a filler? No. Nothing fucking happens. You can take plot progression from the 90s and align it with the current one, and nothing fucking changes except everyone has a smartphone now. The series literally depends on nothing happening.

It was hard to be a fan of Detective Conan unless you knew how to pirate anime. It's only exposure in America was a dub that aired at an odd hour of night on Adult Swim, back to back with Lupin III. I was a fan, but they only dubbed 52 episodes. Once they cycled through them all, they just repeated. Funimation dubbed more episodes but they switched to a format where they were releasing a handful of episodes at a time straight to DVD, and the DVDs cost a lot - $20 for 3 episodes.
By the time it resurfaced via streaming, it was almost 20 years old and had 1000+ episodes.

Hasn't the entire population of Japan been murdered on this show?
>>
American kids were already watching American cartoons about solving mysteries.

If it was aired right after Hamtaro the little girl audience would have carried the franchise to western success

If you don't like America then why don't you go somewhere else?
