You wake up in a weird smelling apartment and this guy is rocking back and forth watching the Exorcist 3. Do you watch the kino with him or take the candle stick out of your ass and try to get the fuck out of there?

I'd shout kinooo, then let him cuddle me all night

Most of Dahmer’s victims came from gay bars.

I went to Chicago years ago. On the way back, I figured "I won't be passing this way again any time soon", so I drove past the Dahmer site and the Ed Gein site in the same day. They're a few hours apart.

The Dahmer site is currently a vacant lot with lots of plants. The block has ordinary houses, and the whole area is up on a rise or little hill within Milwaukee. There is permanent metal signage all around the block to the effect of "NO LOITERING-KEEP MOVING-NO PICTURES etc." The Gein site is in the center of the state, surrounded by farmland. The site where the house once stood (it was quickly burned down by the local yokels, can't say that I blame them, really) is now a wooded, vacant lot with not a lot else on the property. As you circle it, you might see a shed or two. It's privately owned, the owner may or may not use it for hunting small game now and again. Not much else to be done with it, I'm sure everyone wants it to stay vacant although the memory of Gein is getting fairly distant by this point. Would probably be decent farmland tbqh, once it's cleared.

Many people are sure that places can retain some sort of echo of past events. Seems like nonsense to me.

My mother who is reasonably rational in most ways once said she's definitely felt it with some famous battlefields she's been to. I tried gently to explain that this was just because she knew what had happened there but she shook her head firmly.

Here in England I think it's normal for serial killer houses to be demolished. I remember they knocked down the one where Fred & Rosemary West lived, for example.

But if it's e.g. in London then the real estate value will simply be so high I can't believe the site will just be left unused.
