This movie isn't perfect, but it's very good. It would fare better in your mind if our political climate today was not what it is. In ten years, if films still matter, this will be up there. It's textbook slow burn then full throttle then sizzles and spikes to a bubbly end.

Just how much "I ACTING" does Dicaprio do in this movie?
>>
>>215155165
not really, leo is fundamentally an excellent actor, and this might be a random take, but i think he is truly one of the most gifted comedic actors i have ever seen, he's literally funnier than most comedic actors, the parts where it feels like he's as you "acting" is becuase he has to salvage weaker lines, some dialogue is alright, not bad by any stretch, but there are parts where it feels a bit too on the nose or stock, but it's not leos fault, him and penn are the best part of the movie, everyone else is good

>>215155254
Yeah he's a green flag for any movie

>but i think he is truly one of the most gifted comedic actors i have ever seen,
I dont disagree, I think Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is probably some of his best work, but I just cant buy him when he's trying to do anything other than goofy. I just get that "fat weeb dressed in a trenchcoat, fedora and weilding a katana bought on ebay" vibe when he tries to be serious or forboding. Always comes off as tryhard to me and always gets acted circles around when someobody actually talented is on screen with him.
>>
How does this compare to Inherent Vice?
>>
>>215155423
what you think of him in inception or the departed, far from fedora
>>
it bombed so hard they aren't even showing commercials for it now
>>
>>215156774
I didn't even know they had commercials, I mean it's a high budget niche political satire, it's not really marketable except to mature audiences who are on side of the fence, the country's too polarized, pretty sure this is some billionaires passion project, dont really think box office matters, what country you in

>this phone scene is the second of three identical phone comedy scenes in the film
>Leo never actually accomplishes anything in the film other than picking his daughter up after she's just escaped herself

riveting stuff

>doesn't get the incompetence of a stoner joke

No

so when is the cutoff point where you fags stop shilling this movie on here? the exact day when it drops out of theaters, like everything else? do they not have any "shill quality standard" guidelines that teach you not to have multiples of the same thread up with slightly different pictures or OPs? i mean holy shit are you faggots even trying anymore?
>>
>end your $175 million revolutionary leftist film with a 5 minute literal sponsored apple commercial so you can afford to pay your zionist multimillionare lead actor his $25 million salary
certainly an interesting choice
>>
>>215157199
what 5 mind ad?
>>
>>215157375
the epilogue of the film literally has bob get an iphone, logo clearly visible, as his daughter teaches him how to take a selfie
>>
>>215157437
Guaranteed they didn't pay for it
>>
>>215157175
name 9 pages worth of movies we should be speaking about instead?
>>
>>215155254
What typ of comedic movie should dicaprio partake in in your opinion?
>>
>>215157491
they without a doubt did
>>
>>215155142
95 on rotten tomatoes.

>n ten years, if films still matter, this will be up there
LMAO, if anything is going to be remembered from this year it's going to be Eddington, Warfare, or Caught Stealing.
>>
>>215155142
Ending was too god damn obvious and she girlbossed herself into not even needing her dad. Such predictable hollywood shit.

Apple is the king of cryptoadvertising. They somehow get talented people to make what is basically a commercial for them. Like the Nine Inch Nails Only video that was directed by David Fincher. It's like an advertisement for the Powerbook.

does fincher encourage this type of shit

The characters are flat and at worst nothing. They’re drug through the plot after the 40 min mark. The only character with any urgency or drive is played like a retard, so even that is undercut. It’s PTA’s worst film, whether that means it’s “bad” or not is up to you.
