Characters are really boring, it doesn't have that level of wacky mythology that the SAW movies have with Jigsaw and Hoffman and Amanda

Plot armor and main character syndrome on steroids. Everyone is inexplicably dumber than moralfag MC, who wants to play the death game again in order to expose them despite barely surviving it twice. Mastermind is a kid which completely ruins the suspension of disbelief.
No resolution or identifiable villain. Mysterious organization isn't interesting. It's not mandatory every film gives answers. But shitty horror shlock like this does not get to play that card. Just show the evil billionaire and give him his comeuppance. Now have a sequel with a cabal of evil billionaires. And keep it going. It was also way too absurd. It needed to be at least plausible to be interesting. It's not even reasonable. It's complete fantasy. It's hard to put yourself in a character's shoes and experience the "horror" aspect when you know certain shit is just completely outlandish and physically impossible. A large man wielding a knife chasing a person could very well happen to you. Classic horror, albeit overdone by now. The escape rooms needed to be at least reasonable.
