Love and respect to Svengoolie but I'm looking forward to House replacing it full time. It's a better show. I'd be more interested in seeing them run old Sven eps to fill in the gaps, the stuff from the 80s and 90s seems more cozy, more fun, and higher in effort. Not like Arachnophobia hasn't been on TV 10,000,000 times prior to this but I'd rather watch movies like this than Nephew of Frankenstein, The Bowery Boys Meet The Gay Wolfman, etc etc. I find the MST3K-tier stuff like Night of the Lepus to be a lot more fun than Hammer or Universal runoff.Anyway. You guys make me feel like I'm crazy. I think House of Svengoolie is still finding itself but there's no denying that Sven is running out of steam. I still love his segments but I can only get so excited to find out that the star of such and such movie is also known for being in a few episodes of Maude. I love it regardless but--it's gotta get hung up sometime and I'm happy that it's going to continue in another form. One thing about MeTV--how come none of the other channels in the same vein are so high effort? MeTV has so much personality, it's fun to watch even with the Perry Mason and Bonanza and Gunsmoke tombstones hanging around. Charge, AntennaTV, the other ones are all so bargain basement. How come?

Sven is an outlier because he’s kinda homegrown (not big-time high salary as a performer) and the movies they show follow the same content strategy (cheap). Sadly Rich K is getting quite old now and it’s probably over inside of a few years. It would have been nice to see the torch passes in the same way it was previously (son of son of svengoolie) but the Sven squad thing is probably as good as we’re gonna get.So it goes. Joe Bob likewise is incredibly low energy nowadays. Not a great time for the horror host. Shame, feels like it’s still got a LOT of potential as a format.
