Coogler is a race hustler
The hard r’s in this film are so cringey. How the fuck is Tarantino more capable of directing actors to say it than a black man. I can’t take the film seriously because it lacks a certain grit that all seems a result of his Coogler’s Disney background. We’re supposed to be in the South and the film feels too clean. The eating pussy stuff was so cringe too. This was such a wannabe Tarantino/Rodriguez movie.
Literally just From Dusk Till Dawn but with a typical American black worship scene in the middle of the film

It really felt like it came out of fucking nowhere, I mean did they think they were just going to get away with randomly killing like 100 plantation workers? would not the rich plantation owners be somewhat pissed at this? I mean it would be quite obvious who the culprits were.Also, the movie had like 4 fucking endings. The death of Remmick, The death of Smoke, Sammy running from church life and home, and Sammy meeting the vamps in 1992. It's like Coogler couldn't decide which ending he wanted so he just did them all. Overall I did really enjoy the movie though, Remmick and his song sequences were fucking kino.
Really is kind of bizarre that the movie had literally zero good white people in it In real life in the south Blacks and Whites had to get along (even if they were segregated) just due to population density But liberals have to rewrite history so literally none of the blacks in the 30's had any white people that were friends or even nice to them

Could have also better tied the racism and vampire threads together (lack of which was the movie's biggest failure) with some quip about the klansmen needing permission to enter his property.In fact the other brawl took me out as well. The siege buildup before was much more engaging and they should have done more of that to thin the herd because there's just no way in hell the humans could have held off that many vampires for even half a minute. Only two of them knew how to fight and only one of them knew how to deal with the supernatural.
