Literally *everyone* (that I've seen) is saying the movie is either boring or sucks and only saved by Nine Inch Nails (the band) doing the soundtrack.I was already planning on getting the soundtrack just like I did with Daft Punk's Tron Legacy, but I think I might just skip watching Tron Ares completely.

Jay is such an obnoxious faggot in this review. His job is to look at movies through a deeper lens but he's already decided this one is completely unsalavagable. So he refuses to engage and that leaves Mike doing all of the legwork. Listen to Mike attempt to explain the plot as best as he can and Jay just responds with "Yeah..." before awkwardly segueing into how he hates Jared Leto.
Also the comments on this video make me want to kill myself. A bunch of navelgazing retards bragging about how they're so happy they don't have to watch a movie, because their friend simulator talked about it instead. Meanwhile the review (much like many others they have done recently) barely discusses the fucking film. I don't mind RLM but this constant, delibetate effort to not engage with stuff is disgusting to me. At least try. Make some attempt to pretend you are watching a review to decide whether or not you want to see the thing being talked about.

These guys are relics of late 00s internet film-culture when the internet was just Gen-X-ers yelling into a void about how Ghostbusters/Raiders/Empire/Shaun of the Dead are the best films ever. They have nothing useful or interesting to say. The re-evaluation of the prequels show how everything has passed them by. I have major problems with Gen-Z letterboxd film culture (primarily treating film like fashion), but they are willing to engage with movies from all types of cultures and generally keep an open mind.
Has anyone seen Ares yet? I don’t want to waste my time and money.
