Sorry I don't think any human with a functioning brain would be nostalgic for the fucking annoying orange.

You wouldn’t get it
2016 was the peak of internet and american culture
Movies were amazing and reaching the MCU climax with thanos, music and rap was crazy, memes were very strong that year, sjw/trump/politica was the funniest of all time, it was just so damn kino.
>>
>>215212040
it's not for us, it's when we realized that we are boned and the future is dystopia.
>>
>>215212040
There’s no 2010s culture worth remembering. It’s all disposable mumble rap, MCU, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Rick and Morty.

That’s some culture you’ve got there, zoomies.
>>
>>215212360
>mumble rap, MCU
Your generation made that crap popular
>>
>>215212121
If that is the shit you were watching back then then I guess that's what you would be nostalgic for.
I was already locked up in prison by 2016
>>
>>215212360
Wrong. The 2010's were actually quite a unique decade with a lot of cultural movements happening. You just never went out your house and never stopped being a fucking loser so you wouldn't know. The EDM scene was actually a great time to be a youngster. It was the last gasp of youth culture. But who am I kidding, you're a nearly 40 or over man wasting most of your living hours on a Japanese otaku forum surrounded by underage non-white spammers and AI-loving Indians. Your life is a fucking tragedy.
>>

Culture ended in 2007.

I like every decade for what it offers. Even the 2020's, which you should appreciate before they're gone.
>>
>>215212365
So you’re admitting that the best that Gen Z can muster are Millennials’ table scraps?

Anyway, I’m older Millennial, just a couple of years removed from Gen X. My childhood was defined by Golden Age Simpsons, Robocop, Terminator, Alien, Jurassic Park, Beavis and Butthead, Jim Lee X-Men, Attitude Era, and my teens were The Matrix and Lord of the Rings. I think younger millennials are fags too. Don’t put that evil on me.

I don't know about music, but for mainstream movies it was a terrible decade. The destruction of American cinema started before, but it peaked in 2010s and I'm not talking here about all this woke nonsense.

>>215212409

It had a lot of notable movies but for music, it was pretty good. EDM, alt-pop, indie and subgenres within that were very much booming. Also a big thing that I mentioned was youth culture. The 2010's hipster/EDM culture is night and day compared to the OF/TikTok/psycho crowd of today. I remember going to those concerts and the atmosphere was serene. Youngsters living in the moment and appreciating each other. Now it'd be pride flags all over the place, some fuck trying to start fights or other bullshit.

2016 absolutely doesn't feel recent. Other way around. You think that edgelord culture back then is recent to now? Give me a break. It's actually just perfectly a decade ago. You neglected to mention Vaporwave, it was one of the more significant developments of the 2010s worth remembering. But the thing with vaporwave is that it hasn't really made a big mark on mainstream culture quite yet, only recently has it begun to seep through in more subtle ways, James Ferraro and Daniel Lopatin have been collaborating with more musicians throughout the 2020s on films and albums that have been in the mainstream for a while now. Some films I can think of that explore these kind of hauntological concepts are Skinamarink and I Saw The TV Glow, but I imagine we'll start to see this hauntlogical hypnagogic post-internet aesthetic in film more in the future.

I saw Yellowcard recently and it pretty much ruined any sort of want for nostalgia. The main members sat on a couch on stage and sang most of the songs while a bunch of younger guys played the instruments

This.
The 80s, the 90s, the early 00s all had distinct cultural shifts. You hear a song , see a movie, or look at an article of clothing or piece of technology from one of these periods and you know it’s from that period.
Everything since the iphone has just been the same bland & sterile corporate approved garbage. The camera in your phone has more megapixels than the one that came out last year, that’s it. Everything else is stagnant.

>one menu item touts that it's over 1 million Scoville units
>cashier is a fat, disinterested teen girl with dyed hair, a nosering, and forearm tattoos, clad in jorts and a t-shirt with the restaurant's modern-vintage style logo, or a talkative rail thin hipster guy with ear gauges, baggy pants, the restaurant shirt, and an open red flannel
>tabletops are decorated with bottlecaps, license plates, or vintage ads
>seats for tall tables are cushioned barrels, seats for regular tables are unpadded metal that makes your butt go numb in 5 minutes

Yep, it's 2012 again

Nobody cares about what they think, everyone knows 2010s nostalgia is very real
>>
>>215216325
2010-2012, sure. 2013 onwards is the same era as today.
>>
I miss sending Justin Bieber death threats
>>
>>215216337
2015 is peak childhood nostalgia for many people so nah, and a lot of people are even nostalgic about 2018 or early 2020s because of covid
>>
>>215216377
Well those people are wrong. Nothing after 2012 will ever be acceptable nostalgia. Reality ended on December 21, 2012.
>>
>>215216383
For most people nowadays it's not. People are nostalgic about playing Minecraft in 2015 and watching youtube lets players like Markiplier or Jacksepticeye after school. This is the new reality now
>>
>>215216430
That is so fucking depressing.
>>
>>215212409
EDM isn't real music. yeah i guess it's fine to dance too when fucked up but it has the merit of a wet fart
>>
>>215216453
It's dumb but it's still comfy and nostalgic
>>
>>215216370
I'm sure 90% of people that despised the fuck outta Bieber then feel sorry for him now with all the diddy allegations
>>
>>215216490
That's a myth, diddy didn't do anything to Bieber
>>
>>215216337
If you think 2013 belongs into the same pigeonhole as the covid and AI decade then your brain is fucked.
>>
>>215213067
2020's are so bad they make the terrible 2010's look decent by comparison. it's insane
>>
>>215216521
It's the same era the same way 1990 and 1999 were both the 90s even though they were extremely different from each other.
>>
>>215213233
i liked 2012-2015, 2015 being when i dated my oneitis and wrote my first screen play. my dog died in mid 2016 and it's been downhill ever since. 2024 was fun because i moved to NYC and went full hedonism mode but that's not doable for most people
>>
>>215213552
lmao, some subhuman mod got scared by a logo of a cartoon about horsies.
>>
>>215213366
my friend's wife fell for it lol i remember that dumb shit
>>
>>215214914
honestly the libs might be onto something about capitalism that the only entertainment we have is propaganda to make you mad and algorthims trying to make you buy shit. what is inspiring about being alive today? everything seems pointless and most comes back to profit. not all, i am not saying that, but it plays a part. honestly i just want to die and get it over with
>>
>>215215330
i don't miss it but it's way better than now. and yeah the 2000s were significantly better
>>
>>215215546
got falsely accused of rape in early 2017 just to see the whole world go insane over rape accusations in october of that very year.
>>
>>215212654
>that username
Yeah I'm not reading this shit.
>>
>>215212040
Nobody is nostalgic for the 10s. Things have been shit since the late 00s.
>>
>>215216792
Both the late 00s and 10s are nostalgic to me
>>
>>215216383
>Nothing after 2012 will ever be acceptable nostalgia. Reality ended on December 21, 2012.
But it doesn't work like that. Nostalgia is not always logic.
>>
>>215216811
I’m nostalgic for COVID lockdowns
>>
>>215216792
I miss Starcraft 2 and all the Idra memes.

2013-14 for me. Life is still good, in fact, it's objectively better, but I enjoyed those days more because I was young and incredibly irresponsible.
>>
>>215216901
Wow man, I haven't thought about the deezer and combatex dramas in such a long time
>>
>>215212040
Why did take so long to make a show with so few actual episodes ?

This was the best rap album of the 2010s
>>
2010-2016, sure. Society still interacted with each other back then. Pokemon GO was 2015.
I don't think anyone is nostalgic for the shitshow that was 2016-2019 though.

Zoomers are feeling nostalgic for 2024 believe it or not, they miss the minecraft movie trailer, the KSI song and that one mr beast lunchables copy

This fucking retard is literally the reason why 4chan is so bad now
Why is he sperging out on twitter to nobody?
>>
