Based, in the 1984 horror movie "Fatal Games", the lead girl refused to show her naked ass, so they used Linnea Quigley as her body double for the nude scene
>>
>>215230715
Linnea always ready to show herself. In Return of the Living Dead the usual nude Jewel Shepard didn't want to appear nude for once, so Linnea got the role that made it iconic while Jewel got the "Main girl" boring character.

I sympathize. Before I had any pets, and I would hear people talk about a pet dying, and in the back of my mind think “What’s the big deal? Just go to the shelter and get another one,” but I’ve got two cats now, and I get it. You get so used to their distinct personalities and realize that there’s no real replacing them.

I’ve got a little grey cat who kind of reminds me of Nermal from Garfield, and that guy is my little shadow. He doesn’t let me get outside a five-foot parameter, and if I happen to leave the room without him noticing, he will always come sprinting in whenever the realization sets in. His clinginess can get ever-so-slightly annoying depending on what I’m trying to do, but it is sweet 95 percent of the time, and it is going to kill me when that little guy goes.
>>

>“What’s the big deal? Just go to the shelter and get another one,”

I've never had a pet, but I can imagine how heartbreaking it must be to lose one
>>
Speaking of Hocus Pocus that sequel they made a few years ago totally blows but the prologue part with the kid witches was so good. Should have had the whole movie about them because that little actor girl who was Winifred fucking nailed it.

Just lacked perspective until I lived a little. We didn’t all get the same starting gate, and I grew up in a household that treated pets as glorified decorations at best. Compared to the savage beatings that my dad would dole out on animals, I’m a sweetheart, and I still have no respect for people who treat dogs and cats like surrogate children.

Lads, I rewatched Jason Goes to Hell (Unrated) yesterday and I think I'm starting to like it a lot more. Steven is kino.
>>
>>215230847
Pretty sure I'm gay for Udo.
>>
>>215231998
There's things to like and enjoy about the film, but the overall premise is extraordinarily weak for a F13th film. The extreme lack of Jason being on screen as himself for 90% of the movie, along with the body possession aspect make it the worst of the franchise, but I still have fun watching it every once in a while. That entire run of 5+ is just gimmick city for each film. Most work well enough for what they are at least.
>>
>>215231690
Its not you dingus, scary movie just parodies the same scene, but it pales in comparison to the actual scene which is a 100 times funnier on its own.

>>
>>215232044
Yeah, I feel like the film would be better if it was just an original IP. I do like how Jason regains his body by fusing with the mom, for the narrative context of the film itself, but it's still retarded for the franchise as a whole.
But Steven is almost as great a hero as Tommy, the gore effects are great in the unrated version, and the whole climax is pretty exciting. It's just really hard to get over the body-hopping worm thing, and Pam having had the actual Necromicon Ex Mortis from Raimi.
>>

I've been reading a handful of Junji Ito stuff all month, but that doesn't mean I want to see /a/ cross posting. I go on /a/ for /a/ things. I go on /tv/ for /tv/ things.
And my main issue with animeposter is he posts the exact same cinegrids every year. No new '80s OVAs have come out because obviously forty years have passed since the animation boom in Japan. If you've been in /hor/ for more than one year, you've seen all his images. Like, at least the Kolobos guy has shut up. Cabinanon isn't always here anymore either. Horror it's a pretty bad genre.
>>
>>215234115
That's not controversial. We wouldn't have 70's to contemporary horror if those earlier decades hadn't set the foundations.

There's a lot of stuff from the 30's and 40's in which they were ahead of its time and the production had to use their creativity to go over censors and use their imagination.

50s and 60s horror had those Hammer Film productions as well as Italian horror like Black Sunday. Giallo developed because of those decades.

I cannot stand "horror fans". They are dumb as fuck and have zero taste. Show me someone who thinks the best Oscar winner ever was Silence of the Lambs and I'll show you someone who has the worst fucking taste in movies.

Horror fans will look you dead in the eye and tell you that Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is the 10th best movie ever made. No, not 10th best Jason movie, 10th best movie. Their entire top 10 will be full of shit that they only enjoy because "woman having head cut" sparks their 67 IQ into life as it is something that causes a reaction, other than the fear and confusion in which morons like that live their lives.

These are the braindead knuckledraggers who will tell you that Halloween Kills is good because Michael Myers kills a lot of people. That fucking piece of shit film has nothing - no plot, characters, anything. But Michael kills some people so they get to whoop at bad actors pretending to die after a chase through the same fucking house every fucking time. "Fuck yea brah he just killed that woman, this is a five star movie". Then they'll watch Halloween Ends and they won't like it because it tried to inject something resembling a thought into their derelict brain. "Michael was weak and didn't kill people so it's a bad movie".

Most of these "people" don't even like movies. They just like watching cornsyrup dyed red washing over a blonde girl's throat. "Nah man Citizen Kane, I don't like newspapers so I didn't get into it" "I noped outta The Godfather, people talking in rooms". "Hell yeah I saw Terrifier, man Art is so funny, kills like crazy you know??"

It's like if my dog became a movie critic because she only gets excited at certain points too - like when a dog on screen and she wants to chase it. These kids - who I guarantee were 1.2 GPA stonerbros who melted their brains - however hold up their movie tastes like it is something to be proud of. Imagine that, being proud of spending your days watching the WORST shit.

i cant tell if this is cringekino or just a terrible movie. the script and acting seem like they came out of a highschool theater production. some memorable moments though, like when the dead grandpa appears to the kid in a vision, stops time, and tells him he has 30 seconds to figure out how to stop his family from eating magic goblinslop, and the only thing the kid can think to do is piss all over the table and all the food.

You're right in that a lot of horror fans don't really like or appreciate movies as an art form. I mean a lot of them are genuinely deranged and have deep-rooted mental issues. Right around the point when I was hitting puberty, my stepmom’s sister was dating a guy who had a daughter from a prior marriage that I met at a wedding reception, and she was smoking hot. My dad kept telling me to ask her to dance, but I didn’t, because if they ever got married we would technically be cousins.

society actually doesnt shame extant incestuous relationships that much, though incest remains extremely taboo. particularly society is fine with incest by law, but not by blood. immediate family (siblings parents children) incest is the only kind thats actually considered wrong, and that seems to be more about how it connects to pedophilia. i know a person who had children with two people who are cousins to eachother. its incest by law but no blood incest is occuring, and no one gives a fuck.

That’s why I don’t care how many times Universal tries to update them to make them cool, I’m always going to find something kind of lame about them. I grew up with them being fixtures in school Halloween decorations, Scooby-Doo guest stars, and candy commercial fodder. I really hope that Universal Studios eventually updates their Dark Universe area to just be about movie monsters in general, not just Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.

>The cast had few experienced actors and was primarily assembled from residents of nearby towns who responded to an open casting call, hoping to win roles as extras. George Hardy was a dentist with no acting experience who showed up for fun, only to be given one of the film's largest speaking roles. Don Packard, who played the store owner, was actually a patient at a nearby mental hospital, and was cast for—and subsequently filmed—his role while on a day trip. He later recalled that he had smoked an enormous amount of marijuana prior to filming, had no idea what was happening around him, and that his disturbed "performance" in the film was not acting

What are some of the worst horror movies you’ve seen, I don’t mean campy bad but just utterly pointless and not worth watching
>The Open House
My least favorite movie I’ve ever seen. Being netflixslop doesn’t excuse it. There is no point to this movie at all and the actor is annoying. Total timewaster.
>Hagazussa
Droning, boring, pretentious. There are better slow paced atmospheric movies out there. Folkslop
>Midsommar
Swedes standing in a brightly lit field while shrill noises happen is not scary or even a little unnerving. Shit movie. Also folkslop
>The Sacrament
Brooooo what if a vice documentary was a found footage horror movie duuuuude. You know the entire plot by the time the movie starts. Knockoff jim jones cult leader that’s somehow less fatal and less disturbing in a horror movie than the actual Jonestown was. Waste of time.

>pre-ordering seat now
It got really common prob because places had COVID to refurb and could see distancing would be a problem. Places are more likely to have recliners and extra space now but ticket prices and tactics reflect that too, so you get couples nights where it's a discount that guarantees they pack it like half price days generally also pack it

That sweet spot between no smoking in cinemas and when smartphones became ubiquitous when floors were sticky and seats flimsy fold downs was probably the peak of the experience for me, but the refurbishments since 2019 means prices are more premium because seats take up more space individually now
Idk if the other anon's are trolling but general experience here has been preordering and fewer seats per screen/more effects built in and i think most of that came from COVID

most women dont spend a lot of time considering anything that isnt completely grounded in reality. thats why they dont gravitate toward fantasy or scifi much. so all their biggest fears are just real world things like pedos and rapers and they are a very vocal online minority so it tends to skew the data for what is unsettling or horrific in movies.
several gen x women think silence of the lambs is the most disturbing and violent movie of all time, even though there is little actual violence depicted at all.

Apocalypse Zero (1996) – This riotous superhero nightmare is certainly Worth a Watch! An anime OVA in two parts (together they make up the length of short movie, and *do* tell a discrete arc of the original manga), it takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland in which nuclear mutants and horrible demons run rampant . . . while kids in uniforms *still* troop to school in the monster-infested wastes of Tokyo! Only the Japanese would think of it! Kakugo, a stoic inheritor of a HYPER-INTELLIGENT EXOSKELETON empowered by human sacrifice, fights the forces of the Tactical Evil -- enormous mutants who always have some zany, sexual theme in their makeup. Sonic penises! Acid vaginas! BDSM obesity! Blinding balls and ice-shotgun cocks! They’re all here, and chaste child Kakugo is the only who can shatter the wicked libidos of their wielders! Literally, he seems to suppress and COMPRESS his teen sexuality until it becomes an unbeatable weapon.

One of the goriest anime ever made, the demons vanquish poor humans in showers of *lovingly* animated guts and stringy, screaming *rendings* of mortal flesh . . . and the hero does likewise to them! Even from a solely technical point of view, the detailed pastel carnage is an awe-inspiring thing to behold! And the style, featuring almost Rock Man-ish character designs (thicker at the ends of their limbs, round little heads with jug ears), is not *quite* like anything I’ve seen. Bonus points for not caving and making it predominantly COMEDIC! Unfortunately, as explosively fun as it is, it is only one arc of a larger tale, and was meant to be ten episodes. (In my opinion, the gore, monsters, and hopeless setting certainly qualify it as HORROR.)

They have seen and enjoyed Nosferatu and The Substance. And apparently they adored The Love Witch?

I liked how the full awakend pineal gland gave him the ability to see that brains were inside the head. Because that wasn't obvious. Only with the power of the resonator can one know such secrets.
>>

this movie has one good makeup scene and that's it

Look, expanding your pineal gland is like getting the Thermal Googles in MGS. It's not a requirement but it sure makes your life easier.

#15 Dick Miller - Bucket of Blood

>that actress who played the hooker was so cute I sure hope Stuart Gordon didn't traumatize her and treat her like shit
you can see her pusi in a tinto brass movie, fully spread and all. very nice body

It is a good movie; you're just gay.
>>
I miss him so much. Everyone is coming back, even Jason. But with Freddy there are only crickets. Why? What's holding him back?
>>
>>215240165
Dick, you flower-eatin' bastard! Love him, but I won't watch Bucket of Blood again because of the cat murder. (Humans are all fine, though.)
>>
>>215240264
They haven't been able to solve the problem of recasting him. Englund was the character in a way no other actor was when it comes to slashers. Not to mention you need someone with campy charisma which isn't exactly in abundance these days
>>
>>215240210
it really isn't, anon
The Curious Case of Charles Dexter Ward is one of the better LC stories and that movie made it boring

He recommended Bacon, and it's a good call because you basically need a dancer who can do a reasonable voice (it doesn't even need to match)
It doesn't even matter what they look like, it's the movement that Englund pulled off
My personal recommendation is Kel Mitchell from Kenan and Kel, or someone else who does a lot of physical comedy, and has a nostalgia backing that would draw crowds but isn't as old as Bacon it really doesn't matter under all that burn victim makeup

A Q&A with Jess afterwards.

They're horrifying in a way, but I think they become escapist fare for kids at a certain point.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, this man is about 5 foot 2 inches tall, bald as a plum, and wore a Suspiria shirt of such thin material that his nipples could be seen fully erect (and it was not a particularly cold theater)
