There was a great ep where an older guy was a psychologist who specialized in dealing with hoarding disorder and he himself became a hoarder. They legit used the same tactics he would have used to deal with a hoarder and he just blew them off. They got him to agree to clean his property up, but the text at the end said "he regretted doing it". People are fucking crazy.

I have a bunch of books, comics, vidya games, vinyls, cassettes, CDs, but they're all organized and clean. I keep thinking of selling them but just the thought itself makes me sad, maybe I have the same problem as these people. A guy I worked with was just arrested for having 102 animals on his property, all malnourished and needing aid, and there were 22 animal corpses there as well.Apparently he did this in 2022 as well with 50 large dogs and 40 birds, but when he was caught he received no jail time. Have a close friend who's a borderline hoarder. His living room table has a 3 foot high pile of video games controllers/wires/comic books/electronics with two small spaces cleared so he and his guest has somewhere to put their coffee cup. Piles of stuff on the floor of the living room, kitchen has a mountain of cardboard, milk cartons and various pizza boxes etc.And everything is covered in dust. But at least there isn't rotting food out, so I can still visit. Apparently his whole family is like this.
