>regarded as the worst in the series
>is actually one of the greatest black comedies of all-time
This movie is zero IQ caveman monkey shit and every second is high entertainment
>>
>regarded as the worst in the series

Jason takes Manhattan and Jason X are miles worse
>>
>>215258447
Best part of the entire flick was the redneck son and his mother, every scene with them.

Well, they weren't wrong.
>>
I mean, we should give strangers food, but coming straight to the front door is too much.
Wonder if it would have been a better movie if that guy was planning on murdering those two, but "Jason" stops him. And then kills them anyway still.

PART 5

Pros
> 3rd best sex scene of the series.
> 3 actresses get naked.
> TON of kills.
> Great final chase in the storm.
> Pam is underdeveloped but still a solid semi-final girl.
> Her chainsaw duel could have been longer but was still fun.
> False-Jason is still plenty menacing & competent.
> Reggie is surprisingly not particularly annoying for a kid actor in a horror film.
> The Sheriff is actually willing to believe Jason might be back.
> Violet is a non character but her robot dance scene is iconic.

Cons
> Tommy is a non character.
> The double twist ending was lame.
> Roy's motive is dumb.
> Pam & Violet do not get naked.
>>
>>215258460
This.
>>215258447
A New Beginning is actually pretty darn good imo. It's for the sleaze fans

JASON X

Pros!
> Doig is a decently good lead.
> Jason's main design is good aside from hair & the odd nose on the mask.
> Jason's cyborg design is fairly good but not great.
> Opening with him killing the swat team & getting frozen was all solid.
> Frozen head death was iconic.
> Scenes of him stalking & killing the future marines was solid.
> KM taking down Jason is fun.
> Interior sets for the ships are fine.

Cons!
> Too light in tone & meta. I would have given it a Alien, Event Horizon, Pandorum level of seriousness.
> Jason's Cyborg design could have been a bit more gruesome & sinister like the concept art.
> The cinematography is kinda flat & TV movie like.
> No great deaths once Jason goes Cyborg, the sleeping bag kills was fun but eh.
> Cutting away from the 1 chick getting sucked through the hole in the hull.
> Not showing a more serious final duel between Cyborg Jason & the last Marine.
>>
>>215258460
I wouldn’t even mind VIII all that much if it didn’t commit the cardinal sin of being really really boring until they actually get to Manhattan.
>>
>>215258643
>> The double twist ending was lame.
I think that was one of the first times I just said "No!" and disregarded its canon on the spot.
>>
>>215258664
The franchise as a whole actually flows better if you just skip straight from 4 to 6 and ignore 5. 5 kind of has no reason to exists, aside from a few decent titties.
>>
>>215258447
I still absolutely howl when the fat retard gets bludgeoned to death over a chocolate bar
>>
>>215258643
>>215258664
well that kinda happened/ended up getting retconned since nothing comes out of it in the next film when jason gets revived
it's like that plot at the end of halloween kills where laurie out right stated
>i am coming for you michael.. i-i guess
>>
>>215258760
Movies where a candy bar facilitates the plot:

>Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
>Friday the 13 Part V
>Jurassic World Rebirth

Surely there are more. I guess Chunk and Sloth bond over a Baby Ruth in Goonies, but that’s more of a side story.

>> Pam does not get naked.
The actress did show t&a and possibly obscured underwater pussy the same year in Thunder Alley but I can't find any good quality clips/screencaps of it online. Waiting for a Blu-Ray.

Watched the original Freddy vs Jason last night on a whim just to have a laugh and while it wasn't scary the fighting between the 2 was kino all the way to the end
>>
>>215258987
The final battle is great but god it's such a dull flick, you can feel Ronny Yu's apathy for the project if you're an oldhead
>>
>>215259037
It worked for the crowd in the theater when I saw it back in the day. That audience was locked in, and reacting like it was a WWE pay-per-view. A lot of rednecks in there, a very pro-Jason crowd, as rural folk tend to be.
>>
>>215258447
4, 5, & 6 are my three fave F13 films
>>
>>215259320
Idk what's wrong with me but I'm instinctively pro Freddy in this film. I don't usually want him to win in his movies but for some reason Jason is kinda gay to me. Might be my natural preference for Mike Myers who is very similar

>jason x is miles worse
This is just incorrect X is one of the best friday movies
>>
>>215259520
X is hilarious. Not sure that's what they wanted, but it is a good dark comedy.

Return to Sleepaway Camp is a heavensent companion piece for Part V, laugh til you're physically nauseous
>>
>>215259557
I mean if you watch f13 expecting a serious horror you probably shouldn't be watching the series at all
>>
>>215259911
The Final Chapter is extremely brutal in its kills. I even go as far to say that it's the most violent one of them all because they were actually planning for it to be the last one. Then Paramount wanted more money.
>>
>>215259974
Jason is serious in the movie but everyone else in the movie is joking around. Crispin Glover is acting like a buffoon the whole movie
>>
>>215260021
Just like real life then.
>>
>>215260033
Crispin Glover is an autist in real life that's not the same as being a buffoon

I meant everyone like you said.
>>
>>215259974
When that dude who is hunting Jason gets jumped and brutally murdered and starts screaming "oh my god he's killing me!!" is probably the best kill in the series.
>>
>>215260240
That actor definitely got the point across in his inflections that it was painful there was no way out of it and he did command her to run. What a guy.
Not my kind of flick anymore, but I like to review for nostalgia's sake.
>>
>>215258460
Jason X is the most kino

* I think the worst ("best?") kills are:

>also my favorite looking Jason but he only shows up in the first ten minutes and last ten.
crazy how he went from tanking all those shots to practically losing a fist fight against some nerd at the end.
I think it's the F13 with the highest killcount as well.
>>
>>215260273
He was such a letdown of a character. You spend the whole movie watching him get built up, like he's going to be some kind of Dr. Loomis/Van Helsing type that has been preparing to take out Jason, and had some kind of trick up his sleeve, but no, he goes out like a bitch, and his death doesn't even serve the purpose of giving Trish time to escape, because the fucking moron goes back to confirm that he's dead.
>>
>>215258460
Jason X had one of the best kills in the entire franchise and the robot Girl was fun
The real bad thing about X is that it looked like a Canadian made for tv movie
>>
>>215258447
The first one I ever saw, so it holds a special place in my heart

Jason X is absolute kino. The way he cuts the jew kids arm off even while completely frozen is fucking amazing. As well as him getting blasted to bits by the robot chick.

>>
>>215267534
I barely even remember that one beyond it not even really feeling like a Jason movie since he's like a body leaping ghost in it or some shit
Jason Takes A Boat wasn't great but at least it didn't self erase from my brain almost instantly (and still managed to sneak in one of the series greatest kills)
>>
>>215267534
Legally I don't think that was a Friday the 13th movie because they didn't have the rights at the time.
>>
>>215268179
If I remember right it was an extremely stupid situation where "Friday the 13th" and "Jason Voorhees" had different ownership rights since the iconic Jason didn't even exist until the third movie
So everything between 7 and the reboot is a 'Jason' movie but doesn't have the series name
>>
>>215268294
I think that was finally settled a couple of years ago. The lawsuit put the Friday the 13th video game in limbo where they weren't allowed to release new content for it.
>>
>>215268294
>If I remember right it was an extremely stupid situation where "Friday the 13th" and "Jason Voorhees" had different ownership rights since the iconic Jason didn't even exist until the third movie
Kinda. New Line got the rights to Jason Voorhees (the character) but not to "Friday the 13th" (the title) from Paramount. I have no idea why this is, wikipedia says that Paramount literally forgot to give them the rights, which is funny if true. Because of that, everything made after Part 8 (the last movie in the series that Paramount solely distributed) and before the Reboot (which was produced by New Line and distributed by Paramount, allowing them to use the name again) was titled something other than "Friday the 13th": Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, and Freddy Versus Jason.
>>
>>215268543
Post reboot things got messy again thanks to the rights to F13-1 being held by the original writer and F13-2 onwards (of course, includes Jason) belonging to the original director, but *now* the problem if I remember right is that all the actual movies and some related rights (eg, the logo) belong to New Line/WB. So the classic logo isn't usable, and anything actually in the movies like events, Jason's appearances etc could be legally challengable

3, 5 and 8 are the patrician Friday movies. 6 and X are the redditor's choices.
