>>215276395Stopped when they threw Cally out the airlock; TWICE. The most beloved supporting character and the writers had some sick masochist hate for either the character or the actress. Same with Glenn in The Walking Dead.
>>215278063>writers had some sick masochist hate for either the character or the actressHave you seen where the actress ended up? She was deep in that shit when the show was airing, i wouldn't be surprised if the producers were sick of her
>>215278063She was a terribly forced character. Not as bad as the Indian bitch but still. I also love Starbuck and Lee. Get fucked

>>215278611No, elaborate.
>>215277292you guys cant even give this witty motherfucker a you?I gotta come in here and do it?
>>215276395Go ahead, Galactica.
>>215278063She deserved it. That wasn't even the Chief's kid.
>>215278611>>215277071In the series there are scenes where she is drunk. How did they film them? Were they actually giving her alcoholic beverages? Or maybe injected her with ethanol solution directly into bloodstream?Did they treat her afterwards from alcohol poisoning? I've heard that when the first Russian president Boris Yeltsin got deadly drunk before important meetings or public events a special team of doctors would perform blood transfusions to get him soberer. Were techniques like this implemented for the actress?

A pure and utter insult!
>This will help sell our showNo really, this statement used to not be an ironic stab at shitty marketing.
Just watched the first episode. Lemme get this straight, humanity fought AI murderbots 40 years ago, didn't win, and instead of building 100000 gigacruisers decided to decomission everything and turn their flagships into museums? Are they retarded in the future?
>>215280110Why were the Cylon ships so thin and pointy, wouldn't that make them weak? I thought they were supposed to be smart.
>>215281712Smart like an anthill. The cylon base stars were less durable but easier to construct and made in greater numbers than the colonial ships. And they were pointy because they'd spin the halves together to make a triangle so they could dip into atmosphere when they nuked the colonies.
For me, it’s Dee.

I have the shit bluray boxset where they put a film grain filter over all the episodes, which makes HD pointless. Every disc has an unskippable clip of RD Moore sitting in a studio justifying the change.
>>215283319To quote the old man himself the Galactica has many computers but they are not networked.
>>215282940I understand this but why the fuck would they phase out 'old shit' given that their potential enemy is still out there ignoring all attempts at diplomacy? That type of carelessness would be understandable if the war happened, like, 500 years ago and Cylons were treated as ancient history.

>>215284014Did you watch the two part miniseries or episode one?
>>215284014The real question is why would machines be consumed by such petty human emotions that they nuke their creators instead of just leaving. >>215284093>machinesmachines make meat machines. Meat machines lobotomize metal machines. Meat=bad, metal=good.
>>215284014Galactica was really old, it fought in the first cylon war. Carriers get decommissioned when they get too old, we don't just keep them and have 90 carriers.

>>215284093The final five came from the other destroyed cylon civilization to stop the colonial machine cylons from repeating their mistakes. The machines stopped, left the colonies and made organic cylons who turned out to be complete retards and immediately started repeating the same mistakes as the other organic cylons whose civilization was destroyed.
>>215284489>we
>>215284522>But yeah why even make humanoid versions of themselvesThey came from humans. Cavil wants to deny this but his very motivations for putting the cylons on Galactica came from his emotional human side.
>>215284791>>later decides to trust cylons anywayHe also knew that humans infiltrated Cylon space first and broke the treaty. And that "later" part overlooks a whole lot of failures and near genocide moments.
>>215280002that's dr. bashir, not dr. baltar!
>>215284863He knew humans infiltrated Cylon space, he didn't know the Cylons didn't infiltrate human space first. That episode was really retarded.
Wasn't there a sex cult on this show? NIN or something?

Realizing that a show like that will never get made again (because of the cost and because modern writers are fucking terrible) makes me feel sick, like legit physically sick. We've had some good times but they passed forever.
>>215280234Actual means leader of a unit, galactica actual = head of galactica, you might also have something like a squad designated bravo and have a bravo actual meaning squad leader. The point tho is if that squad leader is killed then you have the next guy in line become 'bravo actual' so orders go to and from the right person regardless of casualties
>>215285786>everyone is a le cylon>all along the watch tower keeps playingI like BSG but its not worth that kind of glazing. >>215288561>out of ideasthey even unironically copied the spiderman pointing meme as the big reveal scene
Huh. I don't know why but I was just thinking about Battlestar the other day for some reason.I was just thinking about how the Cylons nuked the 13 colonies and how impossible it would have been for them to wipe out all the humans there. Even if they nuked all the planets cities and whatnot, what about all the other people not in cities? I always found it ridiculous. Anyways I bring this up because I was just running through my head a sequel series to Battlestar Galactica where the people that survived the genocide on the 13 colonies were able to rebuild centuries later, and the people that got to Earth start exploring the solar system again and eventually find something that leads them back to the 13 colonies, and the story goes from there. Or the story could be about the humans on Earth searching for their past and finding clues on the way that lead them to the 13 colonies. I know it would never happen or why am I even talking about this, It was just something that popped in my head recently. I mean seriously, I get they used the virus to disable all the colonials military shit, but wiping out all the humans is just dumb. They had 13 fucking planets, they would need like hundreds of base stars per planet launching nukes to saturate the entire surface, like more nukes than ever existed on Earth x100 to wipe everything out and even in that scenario there would likely be people that survived in some capacity.
>>215284051i'd race her track if you catch my drift
>woman singing intro theme sounds like a retard attempting to sing the gayatri mantra
>>215288697If they nuked the planets into an unlivable state, does it ultimately matter if there are survivors from the original decapitating strike? They can't live there and they can't escape off world, they're dead eventuallyThey even find Earth and it's a lifeless husk and has been for centuries the same way
Think I might be the only person on Earth who didn't hate 'Caprica'. The Lacy Rand stuff got old quickly but otherwise I liked it. Think most people wanted more ships in space shooting at each other so the cultural background the show builds for the BSG universe wasn't well received. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpBz68jA-L4
>>215288805I'm just creating my own headcannon for a sequel series. I just think it would be a cool concept if some of them survived somehow and rebuilt and the humans who found earth had clues that led them back on an interstellar journey back to the 13 colonies. This is more or less me just being pissed off at how shitty the ending was.
>>215288820I don't think you're alone, it was a fine show that died because the *sci-fi channel* thought it was more profitable to appeal to wrestling boneheads

>>215289319I thought about popping down to San Antonio to go check out a big con she's going to be at, but if I go, I guess I'll just drool over Liz Olsen the whole time. Maybe Paul Bettany will bring his wife with him...that'd be nice.
>>215276395Actually that is Edward James Olmos, father of Emilio Estevez.
>>215289363>Paul BettanyThat son of a bitch doesn't deserve her.........
BSG would have been so much better without all the muh democracy politics. Adama should have run everything as a dictatorship since he was the only reason humanity even existed
>>215289435Should have been lesbian scenes.
>>215288805The most dangerous radioactive particles decay quickly. That is the general rule the the shorter the half life the more dangerous. The colonies would have been habitable by the time the shoe ends and given you hear wildlife with anders and crew there is no reason for them not to return. Kobol too would have been habitable. The fact all this is ignored and combined with the fact the people give up modern to technology and medicine to go play savage is what destroys the series for me.If some wanted to play savage, fine, but sane people do not give up FTL.
>>215285135Individually, or in group sessions? Probably a little of both, I would think

>>215289806Yes. There are several theories connecting the two characters.
>>215285786It's amazing how much show budgets have skyrocketed. Sackoff was talking about the catering budget for mandolorian was more than BSG's entire budget. Like I know that's years apart but still that's insane

>>215279968Did ICE boot her ass back to Canuckistan after the sham dyke marriage ended?
>>215276925A different time. A different King.We never realized how good we had it back then.
>>215289942Fat Apollo was best Apollo.
>>215289552The going savage stuff was incredibly stupid (I guess nobody cared that they wouldn't have medicine anymore) but giving up FTL wasn't exactly a choice, the Galactica was finished, it was irreparableI guess they technically had a bunch of FTL capable shuttles but what good is short range FTL when there's nothing around them to travel to with it?
>>215289966Maybe they were hoping for another season or two by allowing the budget to be cut even further.
>>215289961Always makes laugh remembering even the writers knew it was such a lame subplot that they just have an episode start out of nowhere with him back to normal on an exercise bike basically saying "whoa boy, remind me never to let that happen again!"
>>215289884Season 3 wasn't kino, that's when the rot set inNew Caprica really tanked the whole vibe
>>215290001They time jump significantly between finding New Caprica, the insurgency and the escape. The point of the Fat Apollo subplot was already made. What more did you want them to explore with it?
>>215290058Nothing at all, it's just funny because that's how that writer always works, when he gets bored of a plot or writes himself into a corner he just asspulls his way out of things moves on. Happens repeatedly in both BSG and DS9
>>215289256It would be easier to clone existing jump drives instead of trying to rebuild from scratch. You also had FTL on all the civilian ships. With all the equipment in the fleet you could jump start an industrial revolution. They could have still limited the type of tech they develop if they wanted. But you are correct the biggest issue would be loss of the medical tech. What do you tell the man whose wife dies in child birth in a year. Sorry but she had to die because it was gods plan. I don't think people would be happy for long.
>>215290124That's a terrible example of that. Apollo being fat to show how bored and disinterested he has become as well as to show how the Cylon threat has all but disappeared doesn't need a series long arc. Him being back in shape again quickly isn't a miracle either. He's in the military and is now remotivated. If anything the quick jump was a production move as having him in that fat makeup would have been a pain in the ass. A better example of writing into a corner and ass pulling is Balthar having visions and being one of the final five.
>>215290142I feel like I remember it not being the case because the whole point of the ending was ~*symbolism*~ but it would at least have made a little sense it it had been a choice of staying or being able to throw in your lot with the Cylons and leave with them.Like if my choice is caveman or the clankers, I'm going with the clankers.
>>215290247The symbolism was then baby Hera and Battlestar Galactica both becoming a hybrid of human and cylon. The two becoming one and working together. I never understood how that necessitated throwing away all that technology.
>>215288820Speaking of prequels, I wanted to see a series about Kobol and the original Earth of the Thirteenth.
>>215290338But anon, my fresh start!!!!!Think of the poor heckin weckin schmeckin native humans on New Earth!!!!!
>>215286098at least finish season 2 including razor.>>215289884season 4 had the writer's strike
>Leave me alone with the prisoner, no watching the cameras either>Why sir?>Just do it!
>>215290241but he isn't one of the final five
>>215290034two words prove you wrong: adama maneuver
>>215290490no, the five are anders, saul and his wife, the chief, and that indian chick who no one cares aboutit was gratifying when the chief killed the indian chick but you think he could have waited until his resurrection data was uploaded. he basically doomed himself to a short brutal life instead of practical immortality.
>>215290338It was like an awkward combination of a fresh start to move on from all the mistakes humanity made and would make again if they just carried on as usual + giving mech Cylons their first true freedom or some shit
>>215290534the indian chick only exists because billys actor left otherwise it would've been him, but yes I am also happy chief murdered her
>>215290512Yeah everyone remembers that's it's cool as hellBut the whole arc slammed the series grimdark factor into overdrive, like killing a quarter of the survivors and destroying multiple ships of the fleet plus the fucking Pegasus just ended up being unrecoverable, there's absolutely great moments still right up until the end but it's just that, moments stuck in the middle of an increasing dirge
>>215287397fucking based is what it was
>>215289552>>215288805>>215288697The Cylons could have used cobalt bombs, or had cobalt warheads mixed in with the rest of their nukes. Are skinjobs vulnerable to radiation?
>>215290775>Are skinjobs vulnerable to radiation?Yes, they are not as susceptible as humans but they will succumb to radiation positioning just like a person given a sufficient dosage.Given they were living on Caprica and maybe other colonies its safe to assume the radiation levels might have been elevated but since animal life survived it couldn't be that bad. They wanted the colonies and even cleaned up the dead bodies. If they wanted to create a lifeless rock they could have used another method of attack, a simple mass driver would make the most sense.
When Sharon/Boomer puts a cable into her forearm to connect with the computer wouldn't that imply there is a connection point inside her arm? Wouldn't that show up in x-rays?
>>215278883Some cult shit called NXVIM that also involved Allison Mack, from Smallville. Both Mack and Clyne were fucking pic related. Kristin Kreuk and Grace Park were also involved, but probably didn't progress to sex slave tier like Mack and Clyne. There was enough evidence to put Mack into prison for child sex trafficking, but not enough for Clyne.>>215279028Not even close.>>215289803He didn't mention trafficking underage cunts.
>>215290907that wasn't boomer that was athena, and no they are able to connect through their biology in the same way the raptors are actually organic on the inside
>>215290928it was a fiber optic cable which means there is something in her arm that can generate light and receive bursts of light.could that be organic, possible, you could create some type of organ that could fluoresce, maybe like a lightning bug, but could it do it fast enough for a electronic computer, i don't knowregardless it would be an organ humans don't have so it should be visible on some type of scan.
>>215290996their biology allows them to connect to computer systems though physical contact, its sci-fi I ain't gotta explain shit
