Unlike Britain, Australia doesn't really have an immense cultural powerhouse hub of legendary proportions, but they have a good and positive arts culture. In some ways it started when Rupert decided to take over the Tories and GOP making it so no matter how nuts guys like the current guy get, if you're an Aussie Actress or Pop Star you'll easily be able to just book a flight to LAX, rent an apartment on the Westside and start your auditions. Part of it is being on the other side of the world to London, New York and Los Angeles. Part of it is just generally a lower and more spread out population means there's no place for every wannabe actress and musician to go. There's so much more money in London, New York and Los Angeles. Hell if Keith Urban is any proof there's even more money in Nashville. Easy visa laws between close allies.
