Leaked to Youtube a week ago, fans now have proof that Disney is restoring the "original version" of Star Wars for its 50th anniversary in the form of several clips confirming higher visual quality and superior sources to all fan attempts. (Source was Youtube and Vimeo, but were taken down. Reddit is now the only source.)Is it the true original, or the one that conforms to the 1982 tape;et al? I say it's probably the latter, but this is still wonderful news for fans and film preservationists.[Will respond ITT immediately with a screenshot of one scene and link to more]

I guess George is probably seething about this, but this is probably the only thing I don't see eye to eye on with George even though I'm a staunch supporter and defender of George. But the original Star Wars film from 1977 was incredibly historic and gave birth to the modern era of cinema (for better AND for worse) and therefore deserves to be preserved in its original form for future generations. I also hope that TESB and ROTJ get re-released in theaters in two years from now too as those films are the only Star Wars films I still haven't seen in theaters yet and I'm kind of desperate to see those films in theaters in my lifetime. lol
