One of the most memorable scenes in all of horror-fiction is Ridley's face of pure terror amid the strobe lights as she realizes she had been cornered by the alien. Also those unique-sounding sirens as the ship begins the self-destruct sequence are some of the most unsettling and haunting sounds I have heard to this day. The music when they find the eggs and the overall atmosphere are perfect, and totally irreplicable today. It almost makes me wish I had been born a denizen of the timespace circa 1979, so I could experience this, something which had not been experienced by any human being that had ever lived up to that point, for the first time first-hand. This time, this moment may have been humanity's peak. And it is has been all downhill from there.
