This guy and his fans are literally so fucking weird. I had no idea who he was or what this show was about, all i saw was a HBO show s01e01 and was okay let's go. I finished it and was like, well okay, it's alright but I'm not entirely sure about it yet so I go to the discussion thread on Reddit everyone was talking about how they pissed themselves laughing and it was the greatest thing they have ever seen... I was and I remain baffled.

I don't get it either.
Okay a jewish man with a yenta wife and dyke daughter who is clumsy and shouts often like a spaz. What am I missing here? It is humorous but not LMAO OMG MEIN SIDES funny.
Who the fuck is Jim Robinson?

I might've, might have (but probably not) checked out the first episode if Sophia's character was normal, but now the desire has gone. Her career appears to be nosediving. When I watched the trailer for this crap, I don't think she was even featured. Well that's not much a mystery, they're hiding her lesbo character in the trailer because they want ppl to tune in.

If an actress takes roles where she plays a dyke, she is one and Sophia clearly is and even worse, she will transition into a "male" one day.

The Chair Company is an American comedy thriller television series that premiered on HBO.[3][4][5] The eight-episode series debuted on October 12, 2025, and is expected to run weekly through November 30, 2025.[6][7][8] Created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin,

Robinson was born in Detroit, Michigan,[1] on May 23, 1981,[2] the son of a mother who worked for Chrysler and a father who worked in construction. He is of Italian, English and Polish descent.[3] He grew up in suburban Waterford Township, graduating from Clarkston High School in 2000.[4][5][6][7] His parents divorced when he was a child, and he has said that he "kind of grew up with two dads" because his stepfather was Jewish and celebrated Hanukkah with him.[

Kanin was born in Washington, D.C. to Dennis R. Kanin and Carol Kanin, and was raised in Newton, Massachusetts.[2] His maternal grandfather is former Rhode Island governor Frank Licht.

Licht was born on March 3, 1916[1][2] in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the son of Jewish immigrants Rochel "Rose" Kassed from Klevan and Jacob Licht from Rovno, Russian Empire (now Ukraine)

>>
I'm not entirely sure if I'm the core audience for this show, some of the bits really seem to drag on and aren't funny(clothing store scene, all the screaming scenes with the old italian guy). But others are pretty hilarious to me, Ron almost getting his assistant wiped out by the big box truck, every time he instantly comes up with the most ridiculous lie said with 100% confidence, his schizo scene on the Tecca website when he was trying to find their contact info.

With that in mind, would it be worth me watching I Think You Should Leave? or is most of the humor in that the former and not the latter?
>>
>>215365424
I know I'm far gone when I found that arousing

If this show gets 20% better I'll call it his magnum opus. ItYSL is funny but it's not amazing or anything
>>
>>215379734
both. you’ll like some skits more than others but it all comes in such random combination and abundance that you’ll get “what it is” early on.

it’s the newest version of “Hollywood making fun of Hollywood” expect this time with [noticeably] more individual creative freedom, and therefore, hits closer to the core of truth. and creativity.

it’s mainly & mostly satire (latter) with slapstick-ish shit (former) somewhat prevalent
>>
>>215366329
Him being a good father, a good employee, and a tough guy (in regards to security wop) is so refreshing compared to typical protags being ragged on so much as pussies or deadbeat losers

>>215373420
It's because lesbians scarcely are together because of physical attraction it's more like best friends who wanna stay together for life and satisfy each other but they never have that real sexual bond
>>
>>215379734
It's all the same brand of humor. ITYSL is better if you're going by laughs per minute.
>>
>>215376255
For the record I'm a chud with a chud wife and little chuddies and I love Tim Robinsons comedy, it's not always gold but there's something good in it plenty, I don't love the trannies but even the way they're used is funny in ITYSL. My chud kind thay hate it likely don't find anything funny nowadays and are probably in a perpetual cycle or misery. I at least know that to be happy you gotta have a sense of humor
>>
>>215379948
Correct but the eeriness and more relatable humor of this show is elevating it imo, it's not funnier but it might end up a better show

Clearly he's not a real tough guy but in 2 separate scenes we saw him struck eith a bar and then chase after his assaulted bare handed, and then he was being threatened and pushed by the same guy and he stands tall and tells the guy "you will stay away from my family" in a show like this usually he'd be way more of a pussy and be saved from these scenarios or curl up and hide, play dead etc but they're letting him actually stand up for himself and I find that extremely refreshing and rare

He's the weak comedy nerd type that is still allowed to rise to the occasion. It's what many of us viewers hope we would manage to be and what I like seeing in tv more often but usually my protags just get fucked. In a show like workaholics the guys always come out looking pathetic , I'm partial to something more akin to always sunny like when they do the flip cup game against the frat guys and Dennis ends up poisoning them, essentially a victory for them, while that one is funnier my point is I want more protags to manage to succeed against their intimidators

lmao respectively earned that, no hard feelings.

it’s all about creativity with the space.

“making the page itself look pretty” ~

is a quote from one of my favorite writers. after knowing his movies(hint) all too well i started reading his screenplays until i fell asleep.

they are loaded chock fucking full of pure divine creativity and genius. pen to paper.

those screenplays have forever impacted how i write. what was once “reach this number of words so i can be done” turned into “let’s try to amaze anyone that comes across this, bc I KNOW they aren’t expecting it”

And, as long you KNOW you delivered, it’ll work every single time

after dropping outta pharmacy school at 17 i won ‘student of the year’ at my university purely from my writing.

i didn’t even show up to class. just submitted kino papers with more passion and creativity than they’ve ever seen

/tv/ should know the writer i’m talking ab

Yet another "comedy" effort where some awkward goober does a molasses slow routine to bait cringe chuckles.

At least in the old days of SNL the talent had charisma and they were goofing off in a sincere way with positive energy and upbeat tone.

This kind of shit is forgotten as soon as it mercifully exits your field of vision.

it’s the same with music. New artists are born into new ages, but the greatest ones not only have access to what’s been done, they are influenced and informed of the path the medium has taken. then they use that wisdom, the history, and combine it with the modern age / style to create something entirely new for the masses

shit the way I just put it applies to religion too. it’s a universal trend six ways to Sunday

Well said. (society in general)

with music and film i disagree, there’s constant innovation. Comedy is of a different tether, but both (music/comedy) are based off of talent regardless.
profits are projections of talent.

Of fucking course, but only if the guy she was gonna marry was White! If he was literally anything else, she would love him and be happy.

Issue with Tim Robinson is he cannot stop being Tim Robinson. He is the same guy in every show. Other than that, it's an interesting show so far. I've not laugh at anything yet, I mean I get what is suppose to be funny, but I've not giggled yet.
