>being in love is deeply fulfilling and even life-saving?
This is what people who have never been in long-term relationships all naively believe at first but inevitably they're forced to confront the reality that no matter how strong attraction is between two people at first, eventually the passion fades and you'll even get bored of fucking. Love and lust never lasts forever, which is why relationships built on those feelings rarely last. Mutual respect and shared goals are what actually count.
>>
>>215371984
Doesn't happen. He's a kind of introverted guy, a bit of a longer in highschool and college, figured maybe dating just wasn't for him, and then he meets her and they discover they actually have a lot in common and share the experience of having been social outsiders for much of their life. They become friends very quickly and they both sense that this is something they have both been waiting for, and it isn't long before they are lovers because the mutual attraction is unavoidable. Neither can wait until they make the next steps in terms of visiting one another's hometowns, meeting one another's family, going on a holiday together, moving in together, etc. It's like the one thing they really hoped for in life is embodied by the other person, and they are in love, and will remain that way for the next several decades for better or worse. Sometimes they see a couple in a restaurant staring silently into space with miserable expressions on their faces, or see a couple arguing at the store, and they share a little look to one another and all it takes is for one of them to raise their eyebrows and the other is smiling and squeezes their held hand just a little tighter momentarily. Right now, as you are reading this alone in a silent room, they are playing a board game, or sharing a meal, or watching a movie, or having sex, or doing one of the thousands of other things they enjoy doing together.

Sleeping with girls is annoying. I can never fall asleep, their body temperature is too high, my dick is always half hard…
Having sex at her place and then going home to your own bed is peak.
>>
>>215371934
Every relationship beyond the honeymoon phase is hard work AT BEST, much more likely traumatizing suffering. Every single one. Old couples who publicly boast how they still love each other just have mastered the lie.
Everything that releases endorphins wears off.
Everything.
>>
>>215372086
Just get twin beds. It's what me and my gf and did after struggling to sleep comfortably in the same bed. We joke that we're like an old couple already, since our room basically has two single beds separated by a narrow space. We usually lie there whispering for a while and often it leads to us reaching out and holding hands in the dark or leaning over to make out, and true the beds often end up being pushed together so we can have sex but then they're usually separated to allow us a good night's sleep. I recommend it. Every night feels like a sleepover with her.

>>
>>215372464
It's literally the best feeling in the world, it's why all the great art, from music to literature to film, all the plays and poems, tackle it. Love is everything. Even the Bible says so.
Without love, you are nothing. And you? Let's face it, nobody will ever love you. You're not even really human. You're just a piece of shit shaped like a human, doomed to never experience what it is to truly live. God doesn't know you. The devil doesn't remember you.
Welcome to the club. There's more of us than you'd think.

Sure, the "roommate phase" comes around 3-5 years in but there's a whole new relationship beyond that. Like so many others, you just never got past that hump. Skill issue. Stop spouting your entry level teenage philosophy, some poor fuck might take you seriously.

1st on was my highschool onities who reached out to me when things with her bf started to fall apart. She used me as a rebound but i was naive and excited.
2nd and 3rd were dating apps.
2nd was genuinely a great person, we didnt have a whole lot in common but she was incredibly sweet and fell for me pretty quick. Unfortunately we had to split due to different life goals taking us in different directions.
3rd was a bit later. Were together for a couple of years. It was great at first, but after the first year the sex basically stopped, she became very mean and would basically just treat me like an atm. And she would threten suicide if i tried to leave.
>>
>>215372704
Im sorry you got someone you didnt love pregnant.
>>
>>215372723
I didn't and love does not exist.
>>
>>215372654
The roommate phase is really comfy in my experience.

You basically know each other so well that you no longer even need to waste mental bandwidth on second-guessing the other person or wondering whether they like you etc. You're just two people who respect, encourage and love one another a lot, and you are there for each other in a way that is no longer needy or performative. I guess this is what the bible means when it talks about two flesh becoming one. If I ever feel like a hug I just go and find my girlfriend and get a sense of the situation and then hug her unless I can see she's busy or focused on something. We pick up the tiniest cues about each other, it's like when twin siblings can finish each other's sentences or when a dog/cat acts weird when their owner has cancer but doesn't know it. It's so amazing, beyond words, to be able to live with someone who is your best friend, knows you more intimately than anyone else ever will, and still loves you and is there for you but is also independent and secure enough to have their own life and to respect that you have your own too.
>>
>>215372511

I have never fallen in love in my entire life and I'm 29 years old. I am not even sure what love is.
I mean I see beautiful girls and I recognize them as beautiful and would like to be intimate with them, but never ever did I go home and continue thinking about anyone really, except for maybe my close family members when they need help or something like that. Never understood the "oneitis" meme since I never experienced it. High school, college or now at work, all the same.

Am I broken? Does "falling in love" just happen or should I actually try to actively do something for that to happen? I just go through life, but this entire part has missed me entirely.
>>
>>215372065

Is it possible to meet a girl that just loves sex the way you do? 3 years in and it's down to once a month, what the fuck
>>
>>215375376
It's partly a result of lust, especially when you are young. But it's basically a strong attachment, not dissimilar to the one you share with parents, siblings and friends. If you are the type of person who desires and appreciates the aforementioned attachments, then finding a romantic partner will pretty much feel natural to you, much moreso anyway than someone who has to "teach" themselves what it means to be in love. Beyond a certain point, however, love becomes less a stirring of the emotions and more a commitment to care and cherish someone who has promised to do the same for you. It takes effort not to walk away when things get difficult, and the reward for honoring your commitment is a mutual sense of security in a cold and hostile world, a small island of love, compassion and care in an environment where a person, especially a sensitive one, can easily become jaded, indifferent and psychologically brutalised.

>>
>>215375398
What made it clear you had nothing else in common?

One thing that really surprised me in my only ever relationship which ended not too long ago, was how non-curious she was in my life. I must have asked her 1,000 questions, and could still write a 10+ page essay about her life, family, history, likes, dislikes, etc. But I honestly don't think she asked me more than maybe 15-20 questions in the couple of years of knowing each other.

>yes I hate breathing

>>
>>215375477
I don't understand how you can want sex more than maybe once every two weeks or month. Jerking off okay maybe every four days? But sex involves so much energy, you have to clean up afterwards, then shower, and this isn't to mention post-nut clarity which really fucks with your mood and emotions. I used to laugh growing up when a movie would show a guy ejaculating and then rolling over to sleep. I told myself that I would never be like that jerk! But then you have sex and afterwards you're like "uh, yeah I think I'm gonna go lurk 4chan for like the next four months?" but instead you have to kiss and touch and stuff like that. It's just too much imo and should be rationed like fast food or something.

I'm a very broody melancholic guy who thinks deeply about a lot of things. There's a thousand layers to me. But with my ex, what you saw was what you got. There was no mystery to the world for her. Everything was skin deep and surface level. I actually felt lonelier with her than I did in my previous much shorter relationship. Resentment grew over time and I had to end it. She was devastated. I always half wondered why she loved me so much when we were two completely different people with completely different worldviews. I stayed with her far longer than I should have. But, the sex was incredible, which explains a lot why I did.

I'm 40 years old and I've never been able to truly let go in a romantic relationship except for the first time. For a few years, my girlfriend and I have been working hard to make things work, but I refuse marriage or even cohabitation; it's as if I want to keep an escape route open. However, the work involved, even just to truly be together, is a lot and very hard. I envy couples who manage to stay together for life without asking too many questions. Ignorance is truly a bliss.

>happy i am capable of loving and accepting love
Yeah, but I feel like for both of us here on the 'chan we knew deep down it was a forgone conclusion even before we had our delayed first loves.
It was a particularly bitter experience for me because it was a taste of teen love I never personally experienced due to COVID. She was 17 and I was 20, which was socially questionable at the time and legally on the bubble in a state where 16 was the AoC (I'm American where you're immediately ostracized and slammed as a "pedo" if you go out with anyone younger than you). I didn't have sex, but I held her close, kissed her tenderly, and felt her breasts. It was beautiful, it was great, and now I'm too old for anything like that and all the women age-appropriate for me have been run through and lack the decency or humanity you see in teen love.
I just feel like picrel now, looming and creeping around the bars and clubs of the shithole I wound up in, crucified by regret and remorse.
