This episode was dogshit. This show has been getting worse season by season and clearly they ran out of ideas already. Also doing the "obsessed fan stand in" on a show that isn't even four years old seems super indulgent. It's not good if a show already feels like it is going through the motions by season three, and I wonder if this will be the last one.The only thing I enjoyed was hearing David Firth voice acting another character, that's it.

Huh I actually thought this was the funniest episode of the season so far. The episode follows an obsessed fan who stops caring about Pim and Charley the instant he finds a woman. I saw it coming pretty early and I found everything very funny in that context.

Meanwhile Smiling Friends fans are in their teens and twenties. I don't even think Gen Alpha can appreciate 90's Simpsons because the world they're growing up in is so different.

There was actually a buildup to the punchline, and Shrimp was actually a client of the Smiling Friends. Mole Man literally just bursts into the secondary plot and the woman likes the look of his penis, that's it. And Mole Man isn't even a client, so it's not like they needed to make him smile. He absolutely could have gotten a bad ending and it would have worked. Hell, what about this? Someone catches a look at his penis and finds it weird, sending him into depression, and the Smiling Friends have to somehow convince him that his penis is fine while avoiding being gay. That's more of a SF plot, surely.
